Sun Singer Wines & Spirits opened as a wine store and gourmet shop in Monticello , IL in 1998 and operated in that location for five years. In November 2003 having cultivated a majority of customers from the Champaign proper, Mark and Jackie Yarbrough decided to bring this store closer to the people it served while also allowing him to expand the concept to include a Wine Bar Café and Gourmet Deli at our current location in Windsor Galleria.
Our beverage departments boast over 1500 bottled wines, 500 bottled spirit products and over 300 beers. If we don't have an item for a customer we are more than glad to try to find it for them. Special orders are always welcome. We also offer a shipping service for wine and liquor throughout the United States where legal.
We have an extensive collection of gift items especially oriented to wine and spirit lovers, that's why our advertising includes the tag line - "Everything for the Wine Lover in Your Life.' Additionally, Sun Singer offers ready-made and custom gift baskets for every occasion. We can select for the customer or we can build a basket from the customer's specific selections. Gift Baskets are available for delivery locally and they can be shipped as well.
The entire Sun Singer menu is available for dine-in or carry out. In addition the deli offers an extensive selection of cheeses and meats from around the world, plus gourmet package goods from olive oil to specialty pastas to spice rubs to salts to crackers, chocolates and more. In addition, we offer an Hors d'Oeuvres and Party Platter Menu aimed at home entertaining. We offer Cheese Platters, Antipasti Platters, Smokked Salmon Platters plus a range of individual appetizers available for any entertaining occasion. Currently we do not offer off-premise catering services.
The Sun Singer Wine Bar Café offers a light lunch and dinner menu, focusing on soup, gourmet sandwiches and salads and tapas-style appetizers. We offer approximately 25 wines by the glass from around the world on a daily basis. These selections change on a weekly basis in order to give our guests the chance to taste and educate themselves in the world of wines. We offer wine in two pour size - 2 ounce and 5 ounce. Our guests may also select any bottle in our retail collection to have in the Café for retail price + $7. We have a full service bar with an extensive array of finer liquors. We can make almost any drink that a guest can imagine.
We hope that we've created a sense of tempation that will encourage you to visit our store. In addition to all the wonderful offering listed above, Sun Singer hosts our Sensational Saturday Wine Tasting, a complimentary wine tasting, each Saturday afternoon from 12 Noon - 4:00 pm. Every week we explore something new in the world of wine. Addtionally we offer wine seminars and classes, including a Wine 101 presented monthly - ususally the first Tuesday of each month from 7:00 - 8:30 pm.
