Those are the shouts that will be be heard around the globe at 12:01am on Thursday, November 18th. As tradition (and law, for that matter) demands, once a year, the third Thursday in November, wine drinkers throughout the world lift their glasses to that young, fresh, fruity wine of the Beaujolais Nouveau.

Beaujolais Nouveau is an incredibly popular short fermentation wine that is fruity, low in tannins, and has a beautiful purplish-pink hue. It is intended to be enjoyed the year it is produced to celebrate the end of the harvest. Hand picked Gamay grapes are fermented just 6 to 8 weeks, and then the party begins! Be among the first to try this delicious and festive wine! Sun Singer will be offering a selection Nouveaus for your enjoyment so come try them all! Beaujolais is a classic choice for Thanksgiving and you'll want to stash some bottles away for the holidays before they all disappear!

Thanksgiving Pairing Advice
From appetizers, to white and dark turkey meat, mashed potatoes, yams, herb-filled stuffing, and cranberry relish, pickled this and peppered that, all the way to pumpkin or pecan pie - is there truly a single wine that can take you seamlessly from start to finish? The art of pairing wines with food is largely a matter of personal preference, but some tried and true Thanksgiving wines are Pinot Noir and Syrah/Shiraz and Zinfandel for red wine lovers and Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier, Riesling, Gewurztraminer for those who prefer white wines. Typically wines that offer a light-medium body and present themselves with lower tannin levels and less complexity are better suited to the vast array of flavors they are meant to complement. However, if pressed to pick a single varietal that could handle the traditional Thanksgiving spread from start to finish, it would hands-down be a Riesling.

CHAMPAIGN COUNTY HUMANE SOCIETY:
ADOPT A LAB

Thanks to all of you who have generously contributed to the cause! Remember that this benefit runs through the end of November so there is still time to participate.
Throughout November- coincidentally National Philanthropy Month-Sun Singer will donate $2 to the Champaign County Humane Society for every bottle of LAB adopted.
Meet LAB, full name LAB Vinho Regional Lisboa 2008 by Casa Santos Lima. This wine is a blend of Castelao (35%), Tinta Roriz (25%), Syrah (25%) and Touriga Nacional (15%) grapes.
Very attractive bright ruby color. Aromas of ripe red fruits combine with concentrated dark cherry and blackcurrant flavors, as well as a fresh and agreeable acidity and some fine oak notes. It ends with firm but smooth tannins and a fruity finish.
Made in a modern, extracted style, with long maceration and 4 months ageing in new barriques (Portuguese oak), yet this wine hasn't lost its Portuguese roots.
Perhaps most importantly, it offers very good value retailing for $10!

A chance meeting in Hollywood between photographer Tom Kelley and an aspiring but unknown actress led to a two-hour photo session on May 27, 1949 that made history and established Marilyn Monroe as the ultimate sex symbol of the 20th century.
