Atteca Armas 2007 Old Vine

Calatayud, Spain

Bodegas Atteca is a collaboration between the

Gil family of Jumilla and importer Jorge Ordonez. 

The grapes for the 2007 Atteca Armas were sourced from a 13 acre hillside vineyard planted in 1909.

It was aged for 18 months in new French oak.

CORVIDAE Lenore Syrah 2007

Dark and brooding, indulgently lush, this deep purple juice is the Syrah enthusiasts answer to everyday drinking. Lenore captivates with her spice, seductive jammy fruit and a supple texture.

Great depth, with deep, dark red and black fruit flavors. Cherry, raspberry and blackberry join classic plum on a nice, plump mid-palate. The fruit mingles with richer spice tones as the wine almost struts to a clean, lingering finish with impressive finesse.

MASTROJANNI Rosso di Montalcino 2008 

Consistently among the appellation's finest, vintage by vintage, this pretty Sangiovese shows plum and spice notes with hints of mahogany. Full-bodied, with velvety tannins and a juicy finish. A beautiful website - click here - if you read Italian even better!

The driest of the Series, this Sercial shows the characteristic strong acidity and nutty flavors that have always marked great vintage Sercial. Superb as an aperitif or with the soup and cheese courses. Intrigued - click here - for more details.

ERIC BORDELET Sidre Doux  

Biodynamic cider, hm. Yes, and this cider explodes with ripe, freshly crushed carmel apples. The apples come from extremely old orchards in Normandy, France, thus producing very little fruit. This delicious cider displays perfect balance between glycerin and acidity as you would get in
                       biting a candied apple. Great as an aperitif, paired with charcuterie,
                       blue-vein cheese, or using this in a reduction sauce with grilled pork chops.

ANCHOR Junipero Gin  

Junípero Gin is made by hand in the classic "distilled dry gin" tradition, utilizing more than a dozen botanicals in their natural state, in a small copper pot still at the little distillery on Potrero Hill in San Francisco. The history of gin goes back at least to the mid-1600's in Holland, but its true antecedents are much earlier. The predominant flavor and aroma of a modern gin will always come from juniper (dried berries of the "common juniper," Juniperus communis). But the wonderful challenge for the distiller is in selecting and blending from a wide variety of additional, exotic botanicals in order to impart a uniquely satisfying, balanced character to his gin.
