If you love your wine and you're transporting it during the warm days of Spring and Summer, think twice about leaving it in your car.
A car in the sun on pretty much any day gets warm, but a car in the sun on a hot day can develop interior temperatures well above 140 degrees. Wine when left unattended and exposed to the elements, extreme heat or cold, will be on the road to ruin with a raised cork and potentially leaking wine, or at worst the bottle may entirely explode, leaving a huge mess for you or your detailer to address.
So, friends, when transporting wine, keep in mind how long you may have to leave it in the vehicle. Consider your wine like a favorite pet. You wouldn't leave Fido to cook in a scorching car. Treat you wine with the same respect and it too will be your best friend.

Woodford Double Oaked
An innovative approach to twice-barreled bourbon creates the rich and colorful flavor of Woodford Reserve Double Oaked. Uniquely matured in separate, charred oak barrels - the second barrel deeply toasted before a light charring - extracts additional amounts of soft, sweet oak character.
This is the first new permanent line extension from Woodford Reserve. They're calling it Woodford Reserve Double Oaked (pictured). We just received our delivery today. We really enjoy it. It's richer and creamier than the standard Woodford Reserve. Smooth too, with a kiss of sweetness to it. But it will cost more than the standard Woodford.
Woodford Reserve Double Oaked is deep amber in color with clear toasted oak notes in the nose along with vanilla, caramel, honey, and marzipan. The taste is a beautiful union of lush vanilla, honey, and cream along with bold spiced oak and cinnamon. It is one of the best unions of sweet and spicy we've tasted. |
SUPER LIMITED: A REAL TREAT
Bottleworks
13th Anniversary
Bottleworks, Seattle's legendary craft beer store captained by Matt Bonney and Matt "Vern" Vandenberghe, celebrated their 13th Anniversary in March of 2012. Since bottle shop owners can't make their own beer, "The Matts" commission a different brewery each year to help them create their anniversary brew. This time they wanted an especially big beer (they were aiming for 13% abv), so naturally they turned to us for help. Here you see the delicious fruits of our collective labor: a 13-grain, 13-hop imperial porter that packs a wallop. Cheers!
