Join us at Sun Singer as we
de-mystify the world of wine. Wine 101 will introduce you to the everyday pleasures of wine.
We will begin this interactive class by discussing the various approaches to wine. We'll cover some of the basic wine terminology and flavor components of wine. We'll also talk about where wine comes from, how it is made and the characteristics of the 7 basic wine grape varieties as well as tasting the wines.
Class is scheduled to last 2 hours. However, the Question & Answer time at the end of the prepared class has been known to last an additional hour as Brian likes to answer all of the participants' questions.
After this introduction you'll feel more comfortable with the 'language' of wine, ordering wine in a restaurant and how to explain what you want from a wine when choosing one in the store. With any luck you'll be on the road to a lifetime of enjoyment in a world of wine!

Whisky Glass

The shape of the glass is derived from the traditional nosing copita used in whisky labs around Scotland. The glass design was concluded with the aid of Master blenders from five of the largest whisky companies in Scotland.
The Glencairn Glass is the first style of glass to be endorsed by the whisky industry and members of the Scotch Whisky Association and used by every whisky company in Scotland.

RIEDEL
Vinum Series
Bordeaux Stems
Vinum was the first machine-made series of glasses in history to be based exclusively on the characteristics of quality, reasonably price and wide distribution. Perfect for young, full-bodied (more than 12 percent alcohol), complex red wines that are high in tannin. This glass smoothes out the rough edges, emphasizing the fruit, allowing wines to achieve a balance that would normally take years of ageing to acquire. The generous size of this glass allows the bouquet to develop fully. The shape directs the flow of wine onto the zone of the tongue which perceives sweetness, thus accentuating the fruit and de-emphasizing the bitter qualities of the tannin.
