Sun Singer News
In Brief
Sun Singer will be closed Easter Sunday. Head's Up! Mother Nature isn't the only one to throw us a curve ball this week. We're wondering if the beer brewers just have a great anticipation of summer or if they have just failed to set foot out their door. Summer micros are already pouring in. This week we've received Pyramid's Curve Ball - this year a Blonde Ale. Sweaty Betty Blonde Wheat is in from Boulder Brewing (Didn't they just get 18 inches of snow in Boulder?). Buffalo Bill's Orange Blossom has been in stock for several weeks now and of course, Oberon, the quintessential summer brew, from Bell's Brewing has taken a prominent place in our cooler. But who is listening?
WCIA/WCFN Morning Show Tax Day, April 15th, Brian Bowman will again represent Sun Singer on the Morning Show Whet You Whistle segment with Rob Collins. The segment airs roughlyat 8:30a.m. and in this show Brian will be presenting wines with a movie theme in celebration of Ebertfest. While you're making those last minute tax changes and hopefully licking the envelopes (or filing for an extension) tune in the Morning Show for an early morning taste with Brian and Rob.
What's Next? April is a busy month with Easter on the 12th and the following weekend, April 18th and 19th, we'll be invaded with Moms and Daughters for the yearly U of I Mom's Weekend. Watch out Champaign-Urbana! These Moms have a style all their own and the stamina to have a good time! Remembering from last year, Sun Singer was packed with new faces Saturday afternoon crowding out our regulars until out later in the evening.
Taste Wine / Meet People We want to extend a continuing invitation to join us for our complementary Sensational Saturday Wine Tastings from 12 - 4. These tastings highlight an eclectic selection of wines sometimes by country or region, sometimes by producer or specific theme - like this week's Wine Meets the Grill! - or sometimes by the wines we like and want you to taste too. Take a Saturday break and come have a taste with us!
Join us soon for more good times at Sun Singer!
Best Wishes,
Jackie, Mark & the Sun Singer Staff

Wine 102: Wine Evaluation & Terminology
Sunday, April 19th 4:00 - 6:00pm Our Price: $20/person
Do you read tasting notes and wonder how they can be so specific? Do you want to be able to put into words what you taste? If so, this seminar is for you! Join us at Sun Singer as we continue to de-mystify the world of wine. Wine 102 will show you the tasting process and help you develop a style of wine talk.
We'll expand on the basic wine terminology and flavor components of wine taught in Wine 101. We will discuss how wines are rated and explain several systems. There will be handouts on a wine rating system and a listing of wine words. The final part of the seminar will focus on developing your own personal wine language.
We strongly suggest that you have previously attended Sun Singer's Wine 101. Wine 102 will assume a basic knowledge of wine varietals, their characteristics and basic tasting technique.
Learn more about our seminars here.

Wine Chiller
Great way to keep wine cool, inexpensive, and classy too!
Marble
is commonly used in the kitchen because of its cool surface. Here it's used for
keeping your white and rose wines chilled. Pre-chill the Cooler in the
refrigerator, then place it on the table with the bottle inside to keep your wine at its perfect temperature. An
elegant, yet practical touch, it also doubles as an attractive kitchen-tool
holder.
