It's almost time to retire that Spring/Summer menu as Chef Sherry is working full speed to cook up some new favorites for the Fall/Winter menu change. We can always count on her to bring the best flavors of the season in her creations. Look forward to the change starting the second week in November!

ADOPT A LAB
 Now's the time to open a wine that gives the world more than just a little pleasure. This November, Sun Singer is proud to partner with the local non-profit Champaign County Humane Society to provide a tasty and enjoyable way for everyone to offer continuing support to their efforts.
Throughout November-coincidentally National Philanthropy Month-Sun Singer will donate $2 to the Champaign County Humane Society for every bottle of LAB adopted.
Meet LAB, full name LAB Vinho Regional Lisboa 2008 by Casa Santos Lima. This wine is a blend of Castelao (35%), Tinta Roriz (25%), Syrah (25%) and Touriga Nacional (15%) grapes. Made in a modern, extracted style, with long maceration and 4 months ageing in new barriques (Portuguese oak), yet this wine hasn't lost its Portuguese roots.
Very attractive bright ruby color. Aromas of ripe red fruits combine with concentrated dark cherry and blackcurrant flavors, as well as a fresh and agreeable acidity and some fine oak notes. It ends with firm but smooth tannins and a fruity finish.
Perhaps most importantly, it offers very good value retailing for $10!
About Casa Santos Lima
Casa Santos Lima is situated in Alenquer, approximately 45 kms north of Lisbon near the town of Torres Vedras, in a very traditional wine region and where the typical Portuguese rural landscape appears in all its glory.
About the Champaign County Humane Society
The Champaign County Humane Society was established as a branch of the Illinois Humane Society in 1889 and chartered as the Champaign County Humane Society in 1903. Our name reflects our geographic location only. They are not a government body and we are not supported by tax dollars. They are not affiliated with any national organization, nor do they receive funds from the United Way.
The Champaign Humane Society is an "open door" shelter and accepts all animals needing shelter, regardless of age, physical condition or adoptability. As a local, not-for-profit charity, they exist through the generosity of many individuals and businesses and are supported by a community that cares.

 The 2007 Chardonnay Ashley's Vineyard exhibits that distinct earthiness that seems to come from selected terroirs in the Santa Rita Hills and Santa Maria Valley. Crisp, elegant aromas of white peaches, apricots, quince, and white currants are followed by hints of flowers and honeysuckle. Medium to full-bodied with good acidity as well as beautiful balance and freshness.
