Austria is a small but beautiful wine producing country with four wine

wine (13 varieties) has come to represent 30% of the vineyards in recent
years. The hot summer days and cool nights here create crisp, aromatic wines with full body and a refined character. Nowhere on earth are great wines more refreshing or refreshing wines more distinctively delicious.
Austrian wines have been garnering accolades from experts and wine lovers from all over the world. Join us this Saturday for Austria Uncorked and experience the exciting diversity of this unique terroir!

WINE FEATURE W. H. Smith Pinot Noir 2007
Sonoma Coast, California Capturing the flavors of the region in a bottle is the yearly motivation for this Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir. The 2007 is a cuvee blended from four vineyard sources that define the profile of coastal fruit, expressing concentration, bright acidity and that heavenly Pinot Noir silkiness. Medium ruby core with a lighter rim. Ripe black cherry and wild strawberry fruit aromas all surrounded by cooler notes of wet earth and spicy cola. Very round on the entry into the mouth; smooth and silky. Hints of game surround tons of ripe strawberries.

LEGENDS OF THE FALL: OKTOBERFEST, NO TURNING BACK?
Octoberfest beers are quickly filling the shelves. Here's some of the latest for late Summer, early Fall imbibing...
Magic Hat 'Hex' Ourtoberfest A malty amber ale with hints of toffee and caramel and a slightly smoky finish.
Bell's Brewing Oktoberfest
A coppery amber lager that showcases a full bodied, malty flavor that is
balanced by a refreshing bitterness derived from fine noble hops.
Hofbrau Oktoberfest Arich, full-bodied beer which goes down ideally with traditional
Bavarian cuisine. It is an absolutely natural product; brewed from pure
water, the best quality malt and exquisite hops. Offering 6.3% alcohol
by volume and a clean, crisp edge, it is a vital part of the Oktoberfest
experience. As unique as the Oktoberfest itself! Prost! New Belgium Hoptober Five hops and four malts make Hoptober Golden Ale a veritable
cornucopia of the earth. Pale and wheat malt are mashed with rye and
oats to create a medium-bodied ale with a creamy mouthfeel.
Centennial, Cascade, Sterling, Willamette, and Glacier hops form a bonfire of citrus notes, fruity cheers and a bold finale.

In the Spirit: Three's Company
Eades "Double Malt" Islay (Second Edition), 46%
A marriage of two whiskies: 30% 18 year old Caol Ila finished in
Chateau d'Yquem Sauternes casks and 70% 10 year old Bowmore finished in
Grenache wine casks. A honeyed, sultana sweetness (from the d'Yquem?)
nicely tames the rooty smoke, iodine, seaweed, brine, pepper, and subtle
Spanish olive. Bramble and berried fruit (from the Grenache?) and
another layer and dimension. A very dynamic whisky, worthy of exploring
and debating how well all these flavors integrate with each other.
Eades "Double Malt" Highland (Second Edition), 46%
Consists of two whiskies: half 10 year old Clynelish (finished in
Chateau Lafite cask) and half 10 year old Ben Nevis (finished in
Grenache Blanc cask). The classic chewy, nutty toffee notes of Ben Nevis
are prominent throughout, while Clynelish's spicy, briny notes become
more prominent mid-palate, peaking on the finish. The two work well
together, with the brine and spice cutting through the thick
toffee. Bright, berried fruit (from the finishing) adds an additional
dimension prominently throughout. Some oak resin kicks in on the finish
to keep the whisky from becoming too sappy sweet.
Eades "Double Malt" Speyside (Second Edition), 46%
This "double malt" contains 70% 12 year old Dufftown (finished in a
Zinfandel cask) and 30% 15 year old Mortlach (finished in a Callejo
cask). This is a rich, fruity, gripping, broad-shouldered Speyside
whisky. Richly sherried, with thick, layered sweetness as a foundation
(honey, caramel, light toffee), along with ripe bramble, golden raisin
and pit fruit. Leather, tobacco-tinged, oak tannin finish.
