A Café Carol!

'Twas two days before Christmas and all through the store,
Came such joyful mumurs from out on the floor.
With shoppers selecting their treasures so bright,
While folks in the Café found the wine a delight.

As the virtual fireplace played through the room,
Casting a glow and dispelling all gloom,
Suddenly a spirit flew in through the door,
Making his way to the bar heretofor.

As he strode to the bar, he was right on his game,
He knew the bartenders and called each by name,
Ho Bill, Ho Eric, Ho Teri and Tim, Ho Ash, Ho Jess
Ho Kristen and Susie. Bill give me a shot 'cause
this year's been a dozy!

Then without hesitation nor sign of a smirk,
He set down his glass and he turned with a jerk.

I know the events of the year have us muddled,
But let's promise not to face the New Year befuddled.
We'll raise up our glasses for one glorious vow,
To gather as friends just a short year from now.

As smiles and good cheer did light up each face,
And friends turned to friends for a holiday embrace,
No one saw him leave on that cold winter night,
But the room had a sense of feeling just right,
And as everyone turned to finish their wine,
He'd long be remembered that spirit divine.

Thanks for being our friends through the years.
Sun Singer wishes you and yours the peace of  Christmas
and all the joys of the Holiday season.

Happy Holidays!

The Holidays are Here!
Do You Know Where Your Friends Are?

We do!  You're going to find them day and night in our Cafe & Wine Bar enjoying the very best that the holidays have to offer. Conversation is never better than over a glass of wine or an expertly made cocktail. This winter you can warm yourself with one of our new Hot Cider or Hot Cocoa drinks. And when hunger strikes you can share one of our savory small plate appetizers and make a meal of  a hearty gourmet salad or sandwich. We'd suggest giving the new Cuban or the Chicken Pesto sandwiches a try - both made with breads from Champaign's Pekara Bakery.

When it's time for a stretch, take a walk around to feast your eyes on the bountiful and glistening shelves personally attended by the many Elves of Sun Singer. It's not to late to stock your own shelves for the holidays or pick a few last minute holiday treats and surprises.

Join us this holiday as often as you can. You'll always run into someone you know at Sun Singer!

Wine Appreciation Series

This Wine Appreciation Kit provides wine lovers with an accessible guide to evaluate wine professionally. This tasting kit has been created under the direction of Philip Rich, a professional Australian wine taster and judge. It contains everything you need to evaluate the quality and character of the wines you have purchased and provides a fun way of learning the secrets of sophisticated wine appreciation. Through the step-by-step evaluation process, you will begin to train your eye, nose and palate. Wine tasting is an ancient art and a refined understanding of this process will lead to an increase in the pleasure, enjoyment and knowledge of the wines you are drinking.

Private Preserve Wine Saver

One of the best wine preservation sprays available. When sprayed into an open bottle of wine, the heavier inert gas descends on the surface of the wine and creates a protective "blanket" that prevents oxygen from reaching the wine. The wine does not oxidize and will last for days. Completely safe and environmentally friendly with no CFC's. Over 100 uses per can.

Landy 'Desir' Cognac

Landy Cognac's Desir comes in a bottle designed to start conversation. The bottle features the sensuous curves of the female figure. Wrapped in either a red or black seath. The bottle is topped by a wide-brimmed, red velvet-accented hat. The cognac is aged for 20 years, and possesses extra smooth aromas. It is golden in color, with a delicate nose with rich and complex flavors from vanilla to prune. There's only one of her available who's going to be the first?

Vinturi Wine Aerator
Wine that's allowed to breathe tastes better. As it breathes, it opens up and releases its intended aromas and flavors. Traditionally, decanters were used to aerate wine, but decanting is time consuming, cumbersome and inconvenient. This aerator speeds up this process with ease and convenience. Simply pour wine as you normally would...the aerator draws in and mixes the proper amount of air, allowing your wine to breathe instantly.

Epic Glass Decanting Funnel

Decant wines the professional way with this stainless steel beauty. The built-in screen traps sediment, leaving wine free to breathe and develop stronger aromatics.

Lolita Holiday Glassware Collection

Lolita Glasses in the 'Love My' collection are hands down the most intriguing glasses on the planet. They are sure to create instant conversation. Each Lolita is delivered distinctively gift boxed.

Holiday Spirit
Defined

Glenkinchie 12

A replacement for the soon-to-be discontinued 10 Year Old. The distiller's say this version is 'richer, fuller' and the notes certainly sound like it has an extra creaminess over the 10.

Very aromatic and flowery overall, like breathing in a country garden. Noticeable vanilla, cut flowers and beneath these, a clean, toasty note. Becomes increasingly sweet and creamy, with a lightly aromatic edge and fresh citrus, which all brings to mind lemon cheesecake. Water makes it still more creamy and scented.

A sweet, soft start, like crème anglaise, soon becoming flowery again. A really smooth delivery, especially after adding a drop of water. The mid-palate is crisp and then the flavour settles into a tightly focused bundle of butter-icing, lemon cheesecake and freesias.

$ 58.99

Holiday Brews

Gather some friends, light the fire and chill the beer. Holiday beers have arrived at Sun Singer.

Brewing a unique beer for Christmas is a tradition that dates back to medieval times, when most European brewers were monks who saved their finest ingredients for a special brew to honor the birth of Christ. Anchor Brewing Co. revived this tradition in the United States and now there are hundreds of interesting holiday beers available.
