Meet the Press
Check out Smile Politely for a write up on Sun Singer that one of our Facebook fans pointed us toward. It's a complimentary piece that just makes you feel good about being here. We were surprised by the comment that the writer's friends didn't want to eat at Sun Singer because it is a store. It was such a totally new perspective since we think that's a feature that make us unique. Let us know what you think!

To Your Health,

Mark, Jackie & the Sun Singer Staff

Special Feature: Pinot Noir
CAPIAUX Pinot Noir 'Freestone Hill' 2006
Russian River Valley, California
Good bright dark red. Highly aromatic nose combines raspberry, wet stone, Asian spices and smoked meat; this, too, reminded me of a Chambolle, but on the Morey side of the appellation. Big, rich, dense and sweet, with a pliant, silky, seamless texture and a lovely light touch. Finishes with firm but fine tannins and lingering spice. 93 points   ~Stephen Tanzer

By-the-Glass
WHITE
Duckhorn 'Decoy' Sauvignon Blanc '09, Napa Valley, California
A case of pure fruit, the pristine '09 Decoy Sauvignon Blanc is such a pretty white with serious intentions; citrusy with hints of grapefruit peel and lemongrass; bright finish.
2 ounce  $3.50    5 ounce $7.00

PRETTY in PINK
Ken Forrester Rose '08, Stellenbosch, South Africa

Overwhelms the nose with a magnitude of strawberry, rose petal and cherry aromas that follow through on the palate, lingering to a crisp and refreshingly delicate finish.
2 ounce  $2.00   5 ounce $4.75

REDS
Ch. Comte de Vaugelas St. Chinian '07, Languedoc, France
Grenache, syrah and mouvedre blend. Aromas of red and
black fruits, spices and licorice. Good tannin structure,
supple with strong aromatic persistence.
2 ounce $2.25   5 ounces $4.75

Rodolfo Malbec '07, Cafayate Valley, Argentina
Intense red color with violet undertones. Very fruity on the nose with hints of plums, peppers and spices. Good volume in the mouth,
well structured with a finely balanced finish.
2 ounce  $2.50   5 ounce $5.25

Vinos Pinol 'Ludovicus' '08, Terra Alta, Spain
A blend of 35% Garnacha, 30% Tempranillo, 25% Syrah, and
10% Cabernet Sauvignon aged for three months in French and American oak. It has a glass-coating deep crimson hue with an expressive nose of cherry, blueberry, and blackberry. Mouth-filling and succulent.
2 ounce  $2.75   5 ounce $5.50

Deerfield Merlot Cuvée '06, Sonoma, California
75% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Cabernet Franc, 5% Malbec,
3% Petit Verdot and 2% Syrah. Cuvée means "wine blend" in French The blend brings Merlot extra depth, nuance and complexity without interfering with the fruity aromatic personality we like so much. The supporting cast makes the star shine.
2 ounce $4.25   5 ounces $8.50

Spectator Top 100...again
Seghesio 'Sonoma' Zinfandel '08, California
Vibrant display of acidity enhances the briary raspberry and blackberry varietal expression. Lush, velvety mouth feel interwoven with fine, integrated tannins and spicy undertones creates a smooth richness.
2 ounce $4.25   5 ounces $8.75

Share the Mystery?
Stratton Lummis Cabernet Sauvignon '05, Napa Valley, California

From the heart of the Napa Valley-aan unnamed blend of Oakville and Rutherford. Big nose of blackberry fruit and cassis with broad, sweet, classic flavors here of blackcurrant with a little spice, dust and supple tannins. Forward, juicy and full of character.
2 ounce  $4.50   5 ounce $9.00

Last Six Bottles Downstate
Fortress Petite Syrah '07, Red Hills, Lake County, California
Classic balance and elegance with smooth tannins framing the
variety's wildly exotic flavors of blackberries, blueberries, bacon, tobacco, grilled mushrooms, tamari, anise and lots of black pepper.
2 ounce  $5.75   5 ounce $11.50

Cranberry Chipotle
Cheddar

Master Cheesemaker Sid Cook at Carr Valley Cheese has done it again. He has created another unique and interesting variety of flavored American cheddar: Chipotle Cranberry Cheddar.
One of Sid's newest creations, it has already won a Bronze Award at the U.S. Championship Cheese Contest.

Chipotle Cranberry Cheddar uses a robustly flavored white cheddar. The sweetness of the cranberries contrasts nicely with the spicy, smoky flavor of the chipotle peppers. Carr Valley's website describes the cheese as having the flavor of Texas barbecue sauce. One writer described the cheese as a "mouth party." At the very least, this cheddar with be a hit at any party.

Two Summer
Lagers

READY TO DRINK NOW

Two Brothers Brewing

Dog Days
Dortmunder Style  Lager
Dog Days is Two Brothers warm weather beer and the only lager they produce.
This golden lager is a German style
Dortmunder with a delicate caramel malt character and light body. Dog Days has a noticeable noble hop character creating a crisp, clean finish.

Boulevard Brewing

PILSNER
Boulevard pays homage to the legacy of past Kansas City breweries with a classic American lager; 100% malt, real hop character, unpasteurized. It's the taste of tradition.

Crisp, slightly malty aroma and a pale, golden hue. Light body, even balance and a mild hop bitterness make Pilsner a very refreshing, quaffable beer.
