WOW! WHAT ANOTHER WEEK...
1) Women's Soccer has been hotter than the weather this week and we're all excited about Sunday's results.

2) If you haven't noticed there are lots of new faces around Sun Singer lately. While we're sad to lose old staff, lives move on and dreams have to be lived out. Do your part, help us get all our newbies up to par!

Whether you are a whisky enthusiast or newcomer to the world of the dram, stop by Sun Singer this Thursday for a FREE walk-up whiskey sampling with Bill Ciske of Maxwell Street Trading Company.

Join us as Bill pours a selection of whiskeys from around the world, including: Bourbon, Scotch, Whiskey and Rye! Our sampling will include an assortment of whiskeys from four different countries. Featuring premium whiskeys from India, Scotland, Canada and the USA, plus some possible surprises!

Maxwell Street Trading Company launched almost twelve years ago, when Brian and his brother Bill built their business from the ground up. Under the mentorship of spirits specialist Joe Conguisti, Maxwell has become Chicago's go-to distributor for single malt scotch, rare liqueurs, tequila, brandies, rum, bourbon, and more. A self-described distillery geek, Brian has built one of the best whiskey portfolios in the city, due in part to yearly trips to Scotland. new hire Executive Chef Michelle Doyle

Sun Singer has hired Michelle Doyle, a graduate of Kendall Culinary School in Chicago, to the position of Executive Chef. Prior to Michelle's culinary school training she was employed at the Champaign County Club as the Club House Manager. At Sun Singer, Chef Michelle will direct food service operations for both the Wine Bar Cafe and Gourmet Deli in conjunction with current Sous Chef Cesar Heredia.

Michelle is a delight to have on board. Please ask to meet her on your next visit!

Star Lane Sauvignon Blanc '08

Santa Ynez Valley, California

Fresh Meyer lemon and grapefruit aromas are complemented by pungent herbs and lemongrass. Taut and juicy on entry and through the middle, then fleshes out on the back end, displaying tangy citrus and honeydew character.

Lola Kay Red '08, Napa Valley, California

Aromas galore of coffee, cocoa, cherry, herbs and spice. Tremendous texture as well as ripe, dark plum/black cherry flavors. Medium/full bodied with good acidity, youthful tannins, and a long, lingering finish.

Barbera d'Asti is one of the more renowned areas for its Barbera wines in northwestern Italy's Piedmont region. It is located in the hilly areas around of the provinces of Asti and Alessandria and was upgraded to its DOCG classification in 2008. no way! Beer Can Chicken Roaster

A great way to get that moist, seasoned chicken, you'll never want to cook a chicken any other way. This vertical roasting Rack holds a seasoned 12 oz can of beer inside the seasoned chicken. After seasoning a chicken inside and out with this rub and adding it to a 12 oz can of beer, roast the chicken vertically on this rack for a moist and flavor-seasoned chicken. Place a cooking pan under the roaster to catch the drippings.
