In Brief
This last week proves that one never knows quite what to expect from the weather in Illinois this time of year. The weather was so nice this past weekend, we even debated opening the patio. In February! Can you believe it? If the next 5 weeks of winter are like this last it will be a beautiful thing.
We also wanted to include a quick thanks for everyone attending the Port Symposium with Wes from Pure Wines. As we had hoped, Wes was at the top of his game Sunday converting those attending to the Gospel of Port. Stay tuned for more fun and educational presentations expanding your world of wines!

We want everyone to attend this weekends Lucky In Love event! Friday the 13th may be your lucky night. We will be decorating the cafe with linens, rose centerpieces, candles and rose petals. Love songs will fill the air as well as romance on the big screen.

You'll be Lucky In Love with Sun Singer's two night Valentine's Day celebration. In addition to regular menu, we'll feature special small plates prepared by our Chef Sherry Casillas, wonderful wines, sensuous Champagnes and creative cocktails, romantic music to set the mood and delicious desserts to engulf the palate.
LOVER'S CHEESE PLATE
Sweet and savory with a duo of goat cheese: Chocolate and
Lemon-Basil served with honey-wheat toast points.
PEAR & BLUE CHEESE BRIOCHE
Toasted brioche bread with caramelized pears, blue cheese and prosciutto ham.
PATE PUFFS
Truffle pate mousse in puff pastry cups drizzled with lavender honey.
CHOCOLATE COVERED STRAWBERRIES
Fresh strawberries dipped in a combination of dark and white chocolates.
LUCKY 7 LAYER CAKE
Moist white cake layered with raspberry glaze and topped with a white chocolate ganache. Garnished with white chocolate curls.
CHOCOLATE LOVE CAKE
Layers of chocolate cake with a fudge ganache. Delightful!

Terra Valentine Spring Mountain Cabernet
Terra Valentine is blessed with two estate vineyards that capture the best of Spring Mountain - The Wurtele Vineyard and the Yverdon Vineyard. The Spring Mountain District Cabernet Sauvignon is a blend of both the Wurtele and Yverdon Vineyard Estates.
The nose opens with deep plum, violets, cedar and bittersweet chocolate. Bright cola berry follows with notes of caramel and dried fig and a lingering, dark cocoa finish.
