January 8, 2009 Volume: # 2     Issue: # 1 Sun Singer News   In Brief New Year's Eve at Sun Singer was a blast! We want to thank all of you who attended.  The night went beyond our expectations keeping us busy from just past 5:00pm when the festivities began to well past midnight and our closing time of 2:00am.  We dined, drank and danced in the New Year. Thanks to everyone for being our friends and for joining your friends at the Cafe for a wonderful evening. Who's looking forward to 2009? What do we have in store for this year? Long term I don't think any of us can tell, but Sun Singer does have a few specials  starting this month to spice up the cold and grey of January. CORKAGE FREE NIGHTS have already begun.  We invite you to join us Monday - Saturday after 8:00pm and save the $7 corkage fee on any bottle you choose to drink in the Cafe that evening. We thought this was a nice way to say thanks to all of you who have spent many enjoyable hours relaxing with us. Come in and start saving soon! EXTENDED SUNDAY HOURS: 11:00am - 9:00pm / starting January 18th Let's face it, there just weren't enough hours in our Sunday schedule to enjoy the good times at Sun Singer. We decided to add a few more. Now we'll be open earlier for lunch, or brunch if you like, plus you'll have plenty of time for a leisurely dinner and a pleasant way to end the week or to start a new one.  Extend your weekend and we can all measure the days as we look forward to Spring. SPARKLING SUNDAYS BUBBLES BAR Now that we have more time on our hands on Sunday, we thought you'd like to join us in our weekly adventure in bubbles.  Every Sunday we'll feature a selection of sparkling wines and champagnes that are sure to make you celebrate! Bubbly starts at $3 and we plan to add a few additions to the menu that could almost make you believe it's brunch - all day long. After this introduction you'll feel more comfortable with the 'language' of wine, ordering wine in a restaurant and how to explain what you want from a wine when choosing one in the store. Featured Wine   TRES PICOS Garnacha 2007 We only get a limited number of cases of this wonderful wine each year. "Inky ruby. Highly complex bouquet of cherry, dark berry liqueur, iron, tobacco and dried flowers; reminded me a wine from Graves. Tangy cherry and cassis flavors are on the primal side initially but soften and gain sweetness with air. Fine tannins add grip to the long, spicy finish, which repeats the iron note.
