Walk-Up Tasting

Wednesday, February 1st, 2012

6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Price: Complimentary

As the Temperance Movement approached boiling point, America's most beloved liquid vice found itself under heavy siege. While connoisseurs saw abstinence creep across the country, the city of Chicago began its preparations to host the most elaborate of fairs.

Only a few miles North, Frances Elizabeth Willard and her league of temperance supporters had turned Evanston into a stronghold for their cause...

Join us for a FEW at Sun Singer as we welcome Brooke Saucier, a University of Illinois alumnus and brand manager of FEW Spirits. FEW is a microdistillery started by Paul Hletko in the Home of Prohibition, Evanston, Illinois. This will be a walkup style tasting much like our Saturday wine tastings. Brooke himself is a distiller and will be not only pouring but answering more than a FEW questions.

The good life requires Few things. Here is the lineup of FEW Spirits that Brooke will be sampling:

Few Whiskey

American Gin
This gin may just redefine your love for the great libation. You will note wafts of lemon peel & warm vanilla awash in a silky grain spirit. And it is then you begin to notice the familiar nip of juniper on the edges of your tongue - the moment in w
hich you remember you are drinking a new kind of gin. A better kind of gin. FEW American Gin.

White Whiskey
Out of darkness, comes white. The golden age of whiskey is still very much alive, but some of us prefer a little adventure. Bottled before it meets the barrel, this white whiskey retains an unadulterated flavor with a crisp, clean bite. We stand by tradition, but a little change can be good.

Napa Soap Company

Soap. A basic necessity that can also be quite enjoyable. Washing away the stresses of life with a good bar of soap is a great way to start or finish your day!

At Napa Soap Company, they craft their soaps by hand, in small batches, blending natural ingredients to soothe every skintype and mood.

Whenever possible, they use local ingredients from the Napa Valley in an effort to share the beauty of this unique area. Their grapeseed oil and grapeseeds are a by-product of the wine industry. The lavender and herbs come from a variety of gardens in the area. The beeswax and honey is harvested in the heart of the Napa Valley, and they even use Napa Valley wine to make their Cabernet Soapignon and Soapignon Blanc bar soaps. Use these products knowing that "a little Napa Valley" goes into everything they make.

Since each of their 100% natural soaps is made from only the highest quality ingredients, you can rest assured that your skin will enjoy our products too. So whether you are looking for a gift for yourself, or for others, we have just the soap for you!

A selection of Napa Soap products are now available in the Gift Section at Sun Singer.
