Here you will find an archive of our newsletters. Our News from the Countryside is sent seasonally, four times per year, while our Countryside Farmers' Markets Enews is sent monthly throughout the Winter, and weekly from May to October. In this archive you will also find information regarding our events/workshops, important policy issues, and other Countryside programs. Since 1999 the Countryside Conservancy has supported community-based food systems throughout Northeast Ohio. Through a partnership with Cuyahoga Valley National Park, this unique non-profit organization helps re-establish farms in the Park and runs farmers' markets during the summer months at Howe Meadow (in the park) and in Akron's Highland Square neighborhood, as well as a Winter market at Old Trail School (also in the park). Other programs help up and coming farmers find land, provide learning opportunities to seasoned farmers via workshops, connect local growers to chefs and consumers, and educate citizens about the importance of local food systems.
