12 Signs of Presence (from an unknown 12-step source) An increased tendency to let things happen rather than make them happen. Frequent attacks of smiling. Feelings of being connected with others and nature. Frequent overwhelming episodes of appreciation.
A tendency to think and act spontaneously rather than from fears based on past experience. An unmistakable ability to enjoy each moment. A loss of ability to worry. A loss of interest in conflict. A loss of interest in interpreting the actions of others. A loss of interest in judging others. A loss of interest in judging self.
Gaining the ability to love without expecting anything in return.

The Art of Repairing a Broken Connection
You might relate to this experience. The other day, after scouring my databases for the phone number, I tried to call an old contact, only to be greeted with "You have reached a number that is no longer in service. Please check the number and try again." I'd invested so much time in trying to connect, and now I was nowhere, faced with having to keep looking for a way to reach this person. And then I realized this happens all the time in our interactions, and simply because we don't know how to reconnect, we lose the deal, the promotion, or even just our cool.

You've Got Two Cheeks. Use Them!
"But I say to you, do not resist an evil person; but whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other to him also." Matthew 5:39
Some years ago I was involved in an organization with a terrific leader who had a habit of verbally dressing down a subset of direct reports. She said that she couldn't get these direct reports to do what she needed to fulfill her commitments to her superiors without yelling, but yelling wasn't creating any lasting change. So certain was she that these people needed her to yell at them that I could not get her to modify her behavior, so I resorted to Plan B.

How does Rally co-driving prepare you for improving performance in teams and executives?
|
I am a Rally Co-driver in several series in the Western
Hemisphere. You can read
about my racing history at my rally website. When I am competing, it is my job to corral all the best performances
from myself, the driver, the mechanics and any other members of the crew
supporting us for the weekend. As you
can imagine, as in any racing, egos are strong, tensions are high, and the
atmosphere is ripe for interpersonal conflict. I have a track record of co-driving for racers of any caliber
(National Champions to first event novices) and delivering results that exceed
their expectations. For the rest of my living, I coach executives in leadership and team dynamics; teams in developing higher levels of trust,
understanding and camaraderie; and individuals in making changes supportive of
getting what they want in life. In this arena too, I
have a reputation for delivering results that exceed their expectations.
HDClarity
is an e-zine for those wanting to develop more of that trust,
understanding and camaraderie in their work environment, and their life
in general. A smoother running team is a more profitable team. It get
things done faster, for less cost.
