Greetings!
While the recent events in Tucson are no longer being blamed on party politics, but simply the rants of a deranged individual, I'm still attracted to the new media buzzwords "Vitriolic Rhetoric" as a focus for Clarity and saving the planet one conversation at a time. Certainly the political atmosphere could be a little less Knower/Judger today and might benefit from a good dose of Learner/Researcher.
President Ronald Reagan and House Speaker Tip O'Neill represented the opposite ends of the "Big Government vs. Small Government", Jeffersonian/Hamiltonian debate. Yet somehow they understood that standing toe to toe screaming at each other was not good for the debate or the country. Today, standing toe to toe would be more productive than myriad mercenary media hacks that sell air time by continual pandering to the radical reaches of the political spectrum bell curve.
Far from that, Reagan and O'Neill enjoyed the journey as friends who had decided to disagree, forming the ability to explore the doubt and make decisions and move forward. It was not a Tip O'Neill zealot who attempted the Reagan assassination. It was O'Neill that rushed to his hospital bed on that disturbing day.

ANOTHER CLARITY SUMMIT
On another note, the January Clarity Summit is in the books and it was another home run (baseball metaphors are HUGE here in St. Louis!). Unfortunately there were several who wanted to attend but for one reason or another, the January date didn't work out. So here's the good news. I've decided to boost the frequency to SIX Clarity Summits per year. The next will be March 4-6 at the Moonrise Hotel in beautiful University City, MO. Click here to learn more.

The King's Speech.
Prince Albert, the second son of King George V of England, had a stuttering problem. In spite of a long string of speech therapists, he thought he'd never be able to speak normally. His story is portrayed in the movie The King's Speech. What's fascinating to me, and will be to you as well, is the story beneath the story. (Read more...)

We get warnings on cigarette packs about the dangers that lie within, why shouldn't politicians be warned of the dangers of "vitriolic rhetoric".

How does Rally co-driving prepare you for improving performance in teams and executives?
|
I am a Rally Co-driver in several series in the Western
Hemisphere. You can read
about my racing history at my rally website. When I am competing, it is my job to corral all the best performances
from myself, the driver, the mechanics and any other members of the crew
supporting us for the weekend. As you
can imagine, as in any racing, egos are strong, tensions are high, and the
atmosphere is ripe for interpersonal conflict. I have a track record of co-driving for racers of any caliber
(National Champions to first event novices) and delivering results that exceed
their expectations. For the rest of my living, I coach executives in leadership and team dynamics; teams in developing higher levels of trust,
understanding and camaraderie; and individuals in making changes supportive of
getting what they want in life. In this arena too, I
have a reputation for delivering results that exceed their expectations.
HDClarity
is an e-zine for those wanting to develop more of that trust,
understanding and camaraderie in their work environment, and their life
in general. A smoother running team is a more profitable team. It get
things done faster, for less cost.
If you'd like to share some of these insights for developing High Definition Clarity in your daily and business life, please forward this email.
