What I am up to...

The Nourishing Foods Cleanse - Summer Edition - Restore Your Liver is now over.
We were strong in numbers and intention with people from across the globe.  There were members from all across the US, Canada, Germany, Australia and England. We were able to put aside our usual diet and enjoy the abundance of fruits and vegetables available this time of year as we cleansed our liver. I cleansed my liver along with the group, I feel so lean, light and energized. What a week we had.  This is what some cleansers said ...

"The cleanse was great!. I feel great and I noticed my skin looks smoother and the pores on my face seem smaller. I lost a few pounds, which is what I was hoping to do, and I feel lighter and less bloated. My stomach is flatter and that flabby skin on my upper arms has toned up - wow! Never thought that would happen!" J, AZ

"Wow, I surprised myself and did really well. No cravings! The food was great and I now have some new favorites. I lost 5 lbs, my tummy feels flatter and my puffy bags under my eyes are much smaller.  Ingrid, you did a great job organizing the cleanse and responding quickly to our comments and questions. I feel like I honored my body, a great feeling to be sure." Lynne Hall, MI

We had a special treat as Jennifer McLean generously opened up her Masterworks Healing Membership site to offer a FREE  Master Class with Panache Desai in Vibrational Possibility which coincided with our cleanse. This was very powerful.   Go to

find out how you can own this powerful series and join her incredible membership site.

I will be attending a seminar with Panache "Awaken Your Authentic Soul Signature" this week at Omega Institute in Rhinebeck, NY.  I am so excited to directly experience one of the most remarkable avatars of our time Panache Desai...

The next Nourishing Foods Cleanse - Fall Edition
will be October 29-Nov 2 just in time to cleanse before the holiday eating begins.

Since it is summer I want to share a health secret which will improve the way your skin looks so you will want to show off your beautiful skin this summer. I have also included a recipe with cucumbers which contain silicon to improve the health of your skin.

The Amazing Benefits of Body Brushing

Body brushing is one of easiest and healthiest things you can do for your body. You can do it yourself at home . It will improve the health of your whole body; your circulation improves, your skin becomes softer and healthier, even your immunity increases.

Variations of skin brushing have been practiced for thousands of years by many cultures including the Japanese before their traditional hot bath, by Greek athletes following a hard physical competition and by the American Indians to enhance skin beauty.

Why is this technique so enduring? Because it works.

The skin is the largest organ in the body and responsible for one fourth of the body's detoxification, most of it through sweat. It eliminates two pounds of waste every day.  Body brushing keeps the pathways clear.

Brushing of the skin also sets in motion natural healing pathways within your body by stimulating the nerve beds. This increases the natural healing processes including the movement of the lymphatic system which can become stagnant or thick due to an overload of toxins in the body. So for those of us who are trying to keep the toxins moving out of our body it makes sense to incorporate this simple technique daily.

Health Benefits of Dry
Body Brushing

  • Removes Toxins - Body brushing increases circulation, releasing metabolic wastes which aids in the lymphatic drainage of the entire body. When the body removes wastes all the organs are able to function more efficiently.
  • Improves skin tone - Body brushing tightens the skin because it increases the flow of blood.
  • Breaks down cellulite - Cellulite is the accumulation of toxins in your body's fat cells.  Body brushing helps break down the fat deposits sending them out of the body through your colon.  Skin brushing along with a diet full of alkalizing vegetables and a smart exercise routine may reduce cellulite permanently.
  • A mini massage - If you sit at a desk all day you may experience stiffness in your neck, shoulders and even your back. Increased blood flow from body brushing increases the electromagnetic energy that allows you to feel energized and invigorated.
  • Rejuvenates the nervous system - Body brushing stimulates the nerve endings in the skin which resonate throughout the whole body.

How To Do Body Brushing

  1. Buy a natural bristle body brush, with a long handle so you are able to reach all areas of your body.
  2. Do it once a day preferably before your morning shower on dry skin.
  3. Begin like this : Start with the tops and bottoms of your feet. Brush your legs, stroke each area as though you are shaving in upward strokes toward the knees, then on the thighs in upward strokes toward the groin. The backs of the legs and buttocks do not need to go toward the groin, just brush. Just brushing them will give them a little stimulation providing a lift. Make circular strokes around any areas of your hips that have cellulite. For the arms, start by stroking the palms of the hands to stimulate the reflexology points, then move to the tops of the hands. Continue up the arm making long strokes toward the armpits.
  4. Always brush toward the lymph glands. The major lymph glands are located at the underarms, in the groin areas and under the jaw. When in doubt brush toward the heart.
  5. The face, neck and breast do not need to be brushed, this brush is too coarse for them. Brushing the midsection is good for digestive health. Follow the natural movement of the colon, up the right side (ascending colon) across to the left (transverse colon) and then downward strokes along the left side (descending colon).
  6. Go out and show your skin proudly accepting compliments from your friends telling you how young and healthy you look.

NOTE: Don't brush on rashes or broken skin. Basically if it feels good you are doing it right!

The skin is the last to receive nutrients in the body, yet the first to show signs of imbalance.  Don't forget that brushing is one of the simplest, healthiest things we can do for it.  Give your skin attention and it will return the favor by promoting a glowing healthy body inside and out.

Cold Cucumber Avocado Soup

Cucumbers are fantastic for cleansing our body.  The skins of cucumbers contain silicon.  This mineral has been toted as the world's greatest beauty secret. Silicon is present throughout our entire body and plays an important role in maintaining the elasticity of cell walls. Therefore is most important in preventing premature aging.

This soup is raw, full of enzymes.

2-4 servings

1 cup chopped spinach or romaine

1 cup diced cucumber with skin if organic

1 ripe avocados, pitted and flesh scooped out

1 thin scallion, roughly chopped

1 ½ Tb fresh lemon juice

1 ½ Tb minced fresh mint, plus more for garnish

1 Tb extra-virgin olive oil

1 tsp chopped garlic

1/4-1/2 tsp Celtic sea salt

1 ¼ cups filtered water (more if needed)

  • Blend all ingredients until smooth.
  • Taste to see if you need more salt.
  • Chill if it has warmed up a little.
  • Serve garnished with chopped mint leaves
