Celtic Sea Salt 

What can you eat to regulate blood pressure, have more restful sleep and prevent over acidity in your body?  The answer is Celtic Sea Salt.

 

Salt is essential for our survival.  It regulates the water content in our body. Almost 75% of our body is made up of water.  This water is not in it's pure form. It has salt dissolved in it to help the body function properly.  Salt present in our cells and tissues helps in muscle contraction, proper conduction of nerve impulses and transport of nutrients into the cells.  There has been so much bad press about salt, and yes table salt which is refined, is toxic and detrimental to your health.  Your body needs pure natural salt.  In fact without real salt and its minerals your body will encounter many problems.

 

There are many types of salt but I am going to talk about 3 types today.

 

Table Salt is the kind found in most processed foods and commonly used by most people for cooking.  The kiln dried processing of table salt removes 82 of the 84 minerals leaving behind sodium and chloride.  Anti- caking agents are added making it worse.  Over consumption of table salt causes high blood pressure, accelerated aging cellular degeneration and heart muscles tire causing heart attacks.  This is only a small list of what happens when or body is filled with the wrong kind of salt and deprived of real salt and minerals necessary for good health.

Sea Salt is salt coming directly from the sea and may be refined much like table salt.  Many sea salts also contain anti-caking agents. There is also unrefined sea salt.  I use to think just because it was sea salt it was healthier but discovered some sea salt is processed and most of the minerals and trace elements are removed.  This type of sea salt isn't much better than regular table salt.  What you want to get is unrefined sea salt.  Unrefined sea salt is obtained by channeling sea water into man-made pools and is then left under the sun until all the water gets evaporated.  The sea salt that remains is 98% sodium chloride with the remaining 2% made of other important minerals like iron, magnesium and other trace elements. Sea salt is not as salty as table salt due to the presence of many minerals.  It is important to check and see if what you are buying is unrefined sea salt without the anti-caking agents.

Celtic Sea Salt is naturally moist salt harvested using the Celtic method of wooden rakes from the Atlantic seawater off the coast of Brittany, France.  It is naturally air dried in clay ponds with wooden tools instead of metal which preserve the living enzymes.  It contains all of the 84 beneficial live elements of sea water, without chemicals or preservatives.

 

Benefits of Minerals and Trace Elements Found in Celtic Sea SaltThe live minerals found in Celtic sea salt are iodine, iron, calcium, magnesium, manganese, potassium and zinc.  The nutrients in the 84 trace elements protect the body from the harshness of sodium chloride.  The balance of magnesium ensures the sodium is quickly and completely eliminated from the body through the kidneys to prevent harm.

The Healing Qualities of Celtic Sea Salt

Celtic sea salt has the opposite effect of refined salt.  It help nourish our body with minerals and balance our cells and tissues. Here are some of the benefits of Celtic Sea Salt.

Regulate blood pressure:  We know salt causes high blood pressure but that is the toxic refined table salt.  Celtic sea salt has been shown to travel around your body looking for the harmful sodium deposits and eliminate them from your body.  It also helps normalize blood pressure.  If you have low blood pressure Celtic salt will bring it up, high blood pressure it will bring it down. 

More restful sleep:  Having a little Celtic salt before bedtime helps break up mucus so you breathe easier promoting deeper and longer sleep.  It prevents you from waking up wanting to urinate so you are more rested.

Water retention: When we take in the wrong salt we retain water.  Celtic sea salt does the opposite by balancing out the minerals and releasing the retained water

Helps control saliva: If you drool when sleeping you may be because you do not have enough of the right kind of salt in your body and that you are not drinking enough water.  The saliva glands work doubly hard to lubricate your insides.  This may also lead to double chin.  Have more Celtic Sea Salt fix this.

Building the immune system:  The Celtic Sea Salt brings rich minerals directly to our cells to resist infection and bacterial diseases.  It also helps our body heal faster after any sickness or injury.

Muscle cramps :  Muscle cramps in the legs especially are caused by mineral deficiency.  Celtic sea salt provides essential minerals to the muscles preventing muscle cramps. 

Asparagus with Olive Oil & Thyme 
 

Spring is just about here and the asparagus are plentiful in the supermarkets. This recipe is easy and delicious.

 

2 servings

 

1 lb asparagus with ends broken off      

 2 Tb fresh thyme leaves chopped or

1 tsp dried thyme

2 Tb extra virgin olive oil

½ tsp Celtic Sea salt

 

Steam the asparagus until crisp tender 5-7 minutes.

Drain place on a plate with all the tips facing the same direction.

Sprinkle with thyme, Celtic Sea Salt and extra virgin olive oil.

Fold gently to coat asparagus leaving all the asparagus tips facing the same direction.

Serve.

Tune into a feeling of joy or happiness.  You can do this by thinking of someone you love; you loving them and them loving you.  You can even bring up this feeling of joy by thinking of a pet you love or tune into the feeling of joy for being alive.  Bring up as much joy in this moment as you can.    Notice if there are any "yeah but" thoughts.  Notice any resistance to feeling joy.  This becomes a tappableissue.  Say "I am having trouble feeling joy in this moment". How true is that? Rate that statement with a number 1-10 where 1 is I hardly feel that way at all and 10 it is completely true. Write that number down. Let's start tapping.

 

While tappping the karate chop spot on either had, repeat these phrases out loud

 

Even though I am afraid to let myself feel joy because if I feel joy nothing will ever get better, I accept who I am and how I feel.

Even though I am afraid to feel joy, I have to be careful about feeling joy. I don't feel safe feeling too much joy. I deeply and completely accept all of my feelings about this.

Even though I have a hard time feeling joy, what about all of my problems? How can I feel joy when I have all these problems? I deeply and completely love and accept myself anyhow

 

Follow the initials where to tap while saying each of the phrases below. Check the chart if necesary. 

 

EB I am afraid to feel joy
SE I don't know how to just let myself feel joy
UE I don't feel safe feeling joy
UN I feel anxious if I am not worrying about my problems
CHIN How can I just let go and feel joy
COLLARBONE It seems irresponsible for me to feel joy, I am supposed to worry to make things better
UA I always have to watch out for something bad
TOP OF HEAD It does not feel safe to let go and feel joy.

 

DEEP BREATH

Now check in again with the statement again. What number are you at now when you say "I am having trouble feeling joy in this moment". Notice if you are feeling lighter. Even a few points make a big difference. Tapping is something we do many times to clear the energy. So in a few minutes with this powerful technique of tapping, you allowed yourself to open up to a little more joy and maybe even a lot more joy. You can do this daily to open yourself up to more joy.
