GOLF TIP
|
How to handle a fast, downhill putt.
If you are faced with a slippery, downhill putt on a fast green, you need to make some adjustments. The best way to play this putt is to choke down on your putter for control. Play the ball just inside the center of the putter face to "deaden" the ball. Do not play it off the toe. This will cause the putter to wobble. Make a short backstroke, nudge the ball with a slight upward strike to get it rolling, and make a short follow-through stroke. The ball should get moving on line and roll nicely down the hill. Avoid "hitting" the putt. View more tips
