Building rapport through Advertising

Rapport (noun): a close and harmonious relationship in which the people or groups concerned understand each other's feelings or ideas and communicate well.

We would all like to have a very personal relationship with our prospects and clients.  We all want each one of them to feel special.  However, time and money limit what we can do about this.

It is one of the areas in which advertising can help bridge the gap.  Compared to personal visits, especially prospecting visits, advertising is a bargain beyond all others.  The number of prospects and existing clients you can reach with advertising is orders of magnitude greater than any direct sales campaign.

The key is to build advertising, both graphically and through the copy accompanying the graphics, in a way that engages your prospects and clients.  Engagement comes from knowing what your target audience needs and wants.  This starts with a simple question: What itch do your prospects and clients have that you can scratch?

The good news is that today's advertising is more economical and has more choices for deployment than ever before.  The bad news is that all advertisers have discovered it, hence the challenge for you is to break through the din of everything assaulting your prospects and clients.  This din of everything is not limited to your competitors, it includes retail offers, from cruises to Chinese takeout, that assault your target audience from email to faxes to pop-up ads.

And so, you have to design clever ads that relate to your prospects and clients (look at the rapport definition above again) and then you have to place them in media with which your prospects and clients engage.

Here at Paperitalo Publications, we can help with all of this.  We can survey your prospects and clients to find their "itches."  We can design ads and commercials that can attract attention and further the rapport building process.  With our platform of websites, newsletters, internet radio, and LinkedIn penetration, no one else can provide more ways for you to pierce the din and reach those you need to reach to grow your business.

ABOUT PAPERITALO PUBLICATIONS

"Paperitalo" (pop-er-ree-towel-o) is Finnish for "Paper House."  We produce and distribute, electronically only, many publications dealing with all matters in the pulp and paper industry worldwide.  You can see a list of these here.  Additionally, we broadcast live, and in podcast form, from  Pulp and Paper Radio International.

Our print publications are the highest ranked publications in the pulp and paper industry worldwide according to alexa.com.  We publish our and our major competitors' Alexa rankings each month here.

We currently experience around 20,000-plus clicks, or as we like to call them "touches", every day from around the world.  This means on average, every minute of every day, slightly more than 14 people choose to click on to one of our publications or podcasts.
