Synergy Guiding Principles
These Poems and Prayers serve as a compass to guide my personal philosophy, and allow me to start my day with a clear intention of who I want to be regardless of the circumstances. I hope you enjoy them.
The Sereniy Prayer
God Grant me the Serenity
To accept the things I cannot change
Courage to change the things I can
And wisdom to know the difference
Prayer of Saint Francis
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love.
Where there is injury, pardon.
Where there is doubt, faith.
Where there is despair, hope.
Where there is darkness, light.
And where there is sadness, joy.
O divine master, grant that I may
Not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
To be understood as to understand;
To be loved as to love
For it is in giving that we receive-
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned.
And it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
Amen
Love Them Anyway
(A favorite of the beloved Mother Teresa)
People are illogical, unreasonable, and self-centered.
Love them anyway.
If you do good, people will accuse you of selfish motives.
Do good anyway.
If you are successful, you win false friends and true enemies.
Succeed anyway.
The good you do may be forgotten tomorrow.
Do good anyway.
Honest and frankness can make you vulnerable.
Be honest anyway.
The biggest people with the biggest ideas can be shot down by the smallest people with the smallest ideas.
Think big anyway.
People favor underdogs but follow top dogs.
Fight for the underdogs anyway.
What you spent years building may be destroyed overnight.
Build anyway.
People who need help may attack you if you help them.
Help them anyway.
Give the world the best you have and you may get kicked in the teeth.
Give your best anyway. ~ Kent Keith |
