School to Launch Innovative "Miami Executive MBA for the Americas" Program
The School plans to launch an innovative weekend Executive MBA program that breaks new ground in MBA education and will uniquely focus on four key management themes - those of importance to individuals and organizations operating in or connecting with high-growth markets, particularly those of the Americas.
Professors Seek Organizations Interested in Research Partnerships
Cecily Cooper, associate professor of management at the School of Business, and her partner Craig Crossley of the University of Central Florida, are looking for organizations that need help on issues that could range from employee retention and onboarding practices to assessing the effectiveness of mentoring and other company programs.
School Welcomes Undergraduate and MBA Students From Across the Globe

The School of Business welcomes more than 550 new students from over 40 countries as the fall 2013 semester begins.

Management Professor Among the World's Top 50 Professors on Twitter
Terri Scandura (@terriscandura), a professor of management at the UM School of Business, has been named among the world's top 50 professors on Twitter by LDRLB (pronounced "leader lab"), a podcast that shares insights from research on leadership, innovation, and strategy.

School Welcomes New Faculty Members

Derick Davis has joined the School as an assistant professor of marketing, Stefanos Delikouras is an assistant professor of finance, and Alex Horenstein is an assistant professor of economics.

Miami Today - August 15, 2013 - The newspaper published an article about the School's New Miami Executive MBA for the Americas program in its "The Insider" column. The article quoted Dean Gene Anderson, who noted that the program "will be structured around themes relevant to high-potential executives, in particular, those who want to excel in the high-growth markets of the Americas..."

Am�rica Econom�a - August 14, 2013 - Information about the School's new Miami Executive MBA for the Americas program was reported in an article published by the magazine, one of Latin America's leading business publications.Article

HispanicBusiness - August 13, 2013 - An article about the School's new Miami Executive MBA for the Americas program noted that the program will "fine-tune executives' business chops when it comes to operating in high-growth markets, particularly in the Americas." Article

The Miami Herald - August 12, 2013 - An article reported on the School's new Miami Executive MBA for the Americas program, noting that the program is "geared at executives throughout the Americas." Article

Sun-Sentinel - August 11, 2013 - A special Sunday feature section about online courses in higher learning included information about the School's launching in August 2014 of The Miami Executive MBA for the Americas program. The article included quotes from Dean Gene Anderson who noted that "The program's sessions will focus on the unique business and leadership issues faced by participants and their organizations."  Three other articles in the special section included insight about online education from Anuj Mehrotra, vice dean for graduate business programs.

 

Time - August 7, 2013 - An article about big data collected by marketers included insight from Robert Plant, an associate professor of computer information systems, who noted that when people download mobile apps, data is often collected. "It could be a horoscope or something, but you don't know what it's really doing in the background," Plant said. Article

Big Data Republic - August 7, 2013 - In a blog post, Robert Plant, associate professor of computer information systems, explored the ethical issues that arise with increased collection of data about consumers. Article

The Miami Herald - August 1, 2013 - An article in the newspaper's FL HealthWatch blog reported that Yongtao Guan, a professor of management science, had received a $453,000 grant from the National Institutes of Health to study potential links between heavy automobile traffic and cancer risk. Article
