Coach Thump Phillips Lutheran High North is pleased to announce Thump Phillips as head football coach of the LHN LIONS 2011-2012 Football Team after spending the past two seasons as their Defensive Coordinator. He has proven himself as a winning coach with an overall record of 61-16 over the past 7 seasons.

Coach Thump's coaching experience includes:

· Two Years as the Defensive Line and Strength/Conditioning Coach - St. Pius High School

· Two Years as the Offensive Line Coach and Defensive Coordinator - Grace School

· One Year as the Defensive Line Coach - Houston Christian High School

· Two Years as the Defensive Coordinator - Lutheran High North

Coach Thump's defenses at LHN have been ranked #1 in the state in fewest points allowed in 2009, and 3rd in the state in fewest yards allowed in 2010. Coach Phillips attributes his winning success to his

athletes, having coached six first team all-state defensive players the past two seasons.

Entering his first year as Head Coach of the Lions, he looks forward to continuing the level of success

expected at Lutheran High North. In addition to football, he also coaches the shot put and discus throwers here at LHN, sending 4 athletes to the 2011 state track meet.

Coach Phillips and his wife Elizabeth have three children, Gavin age 4, Madison age 11, and current LHN Sophomore, Ryan age 16. Coach Thump places family and faith above all else, and will build a family

environment in the LHN football program among his players and staff.

On Wednesday, May 25th, a farewell and appreciation for service to LHN and its families will be held in honor of

A reception will be held in the courtyard after final exams that day, at approximately 11:45 am. Each teacher will be introduced with the opportunity to say a few parting words. After a closing prayer and thank you's, the teachers will each have a personal table to receive well wishes and individual good byes from students and parents. Cards or gifts can be brought at this time or left at the office if you are unable to attend this reception. Light refreshments will be served.

Students vs Staff Basketball Game

When: Friday, May 13th

First game Students vs. Students at 3:30 PM

Winner advances to play the LHN Staff in championship game at 4:45 PM

Where: LHN Basketball Court

Why: To raise money for the LHN Softball team for 2011-2012 season

Trophy will be awarded to the winner of the championship game.

Items will be raffled off during the game and the concession stand will be open for business. Stay after the game for "Game Night" hosted by the Sophomore class.

Will Jordan Ribbons

Will Jordan, LHN Class of 2011, passed away March 3, 2009. Since then, a scholarship fund was set up by the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo in Will's name to help finance college tuition for students who would not be able to afford it otherwise.

By purchasing a ribbon you can not only join the 2011 Graduating Class in remembering Will, you can also help a student in need attend college.

Ribbons may be picked up on Graduation Day (May 28, 2011) in the lobby at Grace Presbyterian Church from 2:15-2:45

Tuition Notice 2011-2012

The paid-in-full tuition discount is $250 per student when the tuition is paid-in-full prior to June 1, 2011. There will be no discounts for paying in full after May 31, 2011. Charges for those families who selected the paid-in-full option when re-enrolling have already been posted in Renweb. If your charges are not posted and you wish to pay in full, please call Lynn Martin in the billing office (281-617-5189) to correct the billing.

Tuition not paid-in-full will be billed over 11 months with fees being billed in July and monthly tuition being billed over the 10 months starting August 2011 and running through May 2012. Your July and August charges will be posted on Renweb by mid-June.

Parents utilizing the automatic draft for tuition payments will be charged fees in July and tuition starting in August. Only contact the billing office (281-617-5189) if your payment information has changed.
