Welcome to another OraMedia Newsletter.
In the last newsletter I wrote that there was something strange about recent reports of studies linking Alzheimer's Disease with certain oral pathogenic bacteria largely responsible for periodontal or 'gum' disease.
It seems that whenever you hear about a chronic disease somehow connected to gum disease the media will refer to it as a 'link.' 'Alzheimer's Linked to Periodontal Disease, Study Finds' or 'A New Heart Disease Link with Gum Disease Found,' the headlines scream. So, what exactly are these 'links?'
Are we talking about a simple connection between specific oral pathogens and their presence in the affected physical location (brain, heart, arteries, kidney, pancreas, etc.)?
Identifying these pathogens is hard enough, but studies which are able to 'LINK' one with the other are fairly common today.
If, however, you could show 'CAUSE' - if you could rule out other factors that also might be 'causing' the disease - that would be a pretty big deal, wouldn't it? And that would bring us closer to a 'CURE!'
Lots of folks would be pretty happy about that...you would think.
On with it.

Our Nr Tooth Cleansing Powder
probably doesn't taste quite as good
as your favorite toothpaste...
...but then, we can't take the blame for making dentistry
the best career choice for 2013.* ___________ We've done something a little different with our 8-Ounce size. Ever since Nr Natural Tooth Cleansing Powder was introduced in 2005, there has been an 8 oz. size, but available only in Peppermint. Due to demand, more flavors have been added; Spearmint, Clove, Cinnamon, Lemon-Lime, as well as the Un-flavored version.
Dropped the price, too. Normally $24.95, you can get the 8 oz. bottle for just $19.95 (U.S.) for a limited time, which is the same price as our popular 2 oz. '3-Pack'...so you get 33% more cleansing powder at a 20% savings. Take a look __________
* It was brought to my attention that according to U.S. News and World Report, the best job out of the TOP 100 jobs for 2013 is being a dentist. That's BEST. Not just in the healthcare industry, but the BEST among ALL industries.
I thought that was a little strange, you know, with all of those fun, great-tasting tooth-pastes out there just preventin' decay left and right - well, I figured that likely the dental profession would be hanging on by the skin of their teeth!
Apparently, I was wrong. Anyway, I know that our Nr Powders are effective but our sales are a microscopic drop in the Billion-Dollar bucket of the tooth cleaning, home-hygiene industry. Since that is the case, somebody else must be keeping the dental profession alive and well, and it sure ain't us. All that is subject to change, though, once your friends figure out why you and your dentist aren't that cozy any more...
