Greetings! Greetings! I'd like to welcome the several hundred new subscribers who have signed on since the last newsletter. I apologize that so much time has gone by since the last one was issued. I could go on and on about how busy I have been -- and true as that may be, I get sidetracked continually. I do have, however, a new assistant whom I hope will be around for a long time, because she is that good. I am expecting that her presence will free me up for more of what I'd really like to be doing, which is communicating with you. In this newsletter, I have chosen to focus on the concept of self sufficiency. I hope that you appreciate the points I will discuss and take them to heart where it concerns your oral health, overall health and maybe even your life in general. I don't expect you to assume my values in all areas of your lives, but since you are subscribing and reading this newsletter on dental self sufficiency, I am making the assumption that the concept of self sufficiency is something that you find valuable and would like to apply to your oral health, at least. On with it... Tom

Have you ever been to a concert where the performer forgot the lyrics to a song? I witnessed that once while watching my favorite band. I thought, "How could he forget those lyrics? He wrote the song! It was a major hit!"
Well, I screwed up an order. I composed the package, placed the copy on the site... How could I not remember how it went together? I guess it happens -- in concert or in the shipping area.
Anyway, the point is, I got a nice response from the customer:
"Tom, just received your voice mail about the shortage on my order. To say the least, I was surprised... no, astounded at your quick reply to my
problem, probably after you had finished your day in South Carolina.
In these times, many people would not believe the 'shortage' problem and never
respond, much less respond in less than 15 minutes.
I want you to know that the score I give to you and your Company is a
110 out of a possible 100. You may pass this score on to anyone in any
manner you please.
"Thanks again for the surprise and good luck for the future of your
business." -J.D.C.
It made my day, of course! Thank you, Sir!

Frame of reference The quest for dental self-sufficiency
"It amazes me how many people claim a desire for self-sufficiency - when they don't seek to be sufficient within themselves." Claire Wolfe, 'Finding your own freedom'I took note of Dr. Robert Nara's work in 1980, having read the Mother Earth News interview with Dr. Nara, 'Freedom from dental disease.' At that time, I was pretty much a lazy idiot with grand ideas yet very generous with my opinion of myself and the value of my own abilities. I read The Mother Earth News religiously and dreamed of the self-sufficient lifestyle but the interview with Dr. Nara was the impetus that actually pushed the envelope for me. See, we really had no choice in the matter since we were barely getting by and I was on the lookout for a good answer to a bad problem which had come up in my new and little family. Continue... |

Should we FEAR Bottled Water? EWG: The Power of Dis-information
Recently, the news was a-buzz with sudden realization that bottled water is practically the new #1 health and environmental problem in America. Water bottlers are not being transparent enough, they are not all coming clean as to the source of their products, nor are they all telling you how the water is treated. The little plastic bottles are clogging the landfills! The solution? Drink tap water. It is just as good -- and cheaper!
Of course, I have a problem with all of this. Read on...

How Clean Can Your Teeth Get? (You'll find out when you make the switch...)
Nara Cleansing Powder is a simple formula of baking soda, Himalayan salt, Xylitol and natural flavoring. That's it. It is not only simple, but highly effective in keeping your teeth clean and the bacteria at bay. And clean teeth are necessary for keeping them from losing the calcium and phosphorus they need for building and maintaining strong, healthy enamel."Hi Tom,
"I wanted to let you know that I see my dentist twice a year for a checkup, cleaning and polishing. Since I am a smoker my dentist has to do quite a bit of scraping to get the brown stain off of the back of my lower teeth and the plaque that forms on them. But on my last two visits he didn't find any stains and only a small amount of plaque that needed to be cleaned off, usually I have to sit in the chair for forty-five minutes to an hour but my last two visits only took about twenty minutes.
"My dentist asked me what was I doing to keep my teeth so clean, I told him that I had switched to your NARA tooth powder and was no longer using the commercial, junk tooth pastes available from the stores. I also told him all of the ingredients in the NARA powder and he was really surprised, quite frankly I don't think he believed me until my second visit. I gave him your web address so that he could check it out for himself, I don't know if he did, but I know he didn't have to work as hard and long as he had to before on me -- but he still charged me the same amount for the visit.
"Now, knowing him as well as I do, I would think that he would have checked out your site. Then he could tell his other patients about Nara Tooth Powder so that he could charge the same amount to all of his patients and not have to do as much work!
"Thanks, Martin"
Clean, Very Effective and Simple. That's it. That's Nara Cleansing Powder.

Where's the 'Health' in Health Care Reform?
I included this article by Mike Adams in the November, 2005 issue of the OraMedia Newsletter. It was an important article then and even more important today. Please read and you'll find yourself asking the same question. Go to article...

I'm getting a little swamped here...
I really do my best to keep up with email I receive from readers but it is getting harder and harder to do so. As a result, I believe that folks may be feeling ignored or frustrated with me for not getting right back to them. I know I have unanswered mail going back months and specific replies due others who have been waiting days and weeks. I do apologize and what I have decided to do is accept your email as usual, but instead of sending a personal reply, which is getting nearly impossible to do, I will do a column with samplings which I believe will cover the most common questions, requests and comments. I'll post them here as well as on the OraMedia site for reference. I appreciate your patience if you have been waiting on me and do hope that you appreciate and respect my situation. In the mean time, I want to thank everyone for your understanding and interest in this work. Sincerely, Tom
