Amgen Cholesterol Drug Succeeds in Late-Stage Trial
 

Amgen said its closely watched experimental cholesterol drug -- Evolocumab --  succeeded in reducing the level of bad cholesterol in the blood, compared to a placebo, in a late-stage trial. Evolocumab is an investigational fully human monoclonal antibody that inhibits proprotein convertase subtilisin/kexin type 9 (PCSK9), a protein that reduces the liver's ability to remove LDL-C from the blood ...
