The Unseen Hand: Medicine from Antiquity Laura Clarke Stelmok, BA, M.Ac, Dipl.Ac. www.theunseenhand.org
All Workshops from 2011-2016

I. The Tao that can be told is not the eternal Tao. The name that can be named is not the eternal name.
The nameless is the beginning of Heaven and Earth. The named is the mother of the ten thousand things.
Ever desireless, one can see the mystery. Ever desiring, one sees the manifestations.
These two spring from the same source but differ in name; This appears as darkness.
Darkness within darkness. The gate to all mystery.
Tao Te ching translated by Gia Fu Feng & Jane English

The Virtue of HeavenEarth An Institute for the Preservation of the Practice of Taoist Acupuncture Maine, Vermont, New York
The Practice of this Tradition returns/restores not only the individual patient but the physician as well, to an essential vibration of Oneness. The physician follows the inherent magnificence of the Spirits and the Essences, restoring choice to the individual and connection to the divinity at the heart of every being's life. Because this Medicine is returned from Antiquity, it brings with it the Disciplines of the Heart and Sense and Light where by the human can regain connection and resonance to the magic of our animate world. The resonance to our terrestrial and celestial home is the fabric of this Medicine.

CURRENT 2016 RETREATS & WORKSHOPS2011-2015 workshops can be viewed below current workshops.
|
- 2016 Annual Curriculum: Advanced Clinical Training / Maine Vermont & New York (1/28/2016)
- Our teaching occurs in 5 or 6-day Teaching Clinics to serve both the development of physicians and the treatment of patients. The Classics of Taoist Medicine and the rigorous disciplines of diagnosis and treatment accelerate the development of each physician. This school trains those acupuncturists who seek to develop mastery as physicians and as human beings, to become finer and deeper instruments
of the Divine/the Tao. The Art of the Heart. We work by the virtue of the tradition of Taoist 5 Element Acupuncture and the ancient alchemical Odes or Songs of Creation.
Laura weaves lecture, questions, work with the Classics and clinical stories to awaken the awareness, the discipline and the inspiration to be able to work at the level of the Shen. She also teaches theory of the Officials, Channels and particular points/protocols, the relationship of true and xie qi, and the patient/practitioner relationship. Ethics of practice are emphasized and challenged, to develop greater stability and depth of service.

- 2016 The 3 Lights Project: GreenLight, Lantern & Streetlamp (1/28/2016)
- We come together to learn disciplines of inner cultivation and service: to tend a diminishing light in our people, our planet and ourselves, to mend errors that have injured our own lives and the life of our planet, to weave a structure of relationship that will support and nourish each participant's life, to preserve and watch over the Light.
This will include teaching and experience with the inner, hidden miracles of forgotten in the feminine mystery traditions.
We come together in the way of servants of truth sharing food, time, prayer and a living tradition of companionship and transmission. The group has no religious affiliation; it is open to all.
