From the Tao all the myriad objects derive their being,

thier illusory separatemess being wrought by the interplay of yin and yang.

This perception of existence as a vast and timeless ocean of spotless purity upon which,

through the interplay of dark and light,

a myriad illusions play like ever-changing cloud formations or restless waves,

is of such immense antiquity that none can say whence it first arose.

Ah, the Taoist concept of the Ultimate is an exalted one,

in which profound philosophy, spiritual aspiration, the poetry of nature and reverence for the holiness

of every being and object mingle, but it is a concept so alien to the Judeo-Christian tradition

that it needs explanation, the more so as it forms the basis on which all Taoist notions and practices

from the most naive to the unquestionably sublime are founded;

yet it seems a little unkind to expect the reader to wrestle with it before being offered more amusing fare.

Well, there seems no help for it,

no alternative to asking her to leap forthwith upon a dragon--

there is always one obligingly within call--,

gather her robes for a journey beyond sun and moon,

and soar straight to the heart of infinity.

Questions that students have asked?

-Can you talk about the points for the ID's and ED's and the

functions of each?  How exactly are they all tied together?

-What do you know about the 7 needles as the dragons?

-What exactly is possession from a chinese medical point of view?  How do you accurately diagnose the need for such a treatment and likewise how do you know when it has cleared?

-Can you talk a bit about how this might cover up the ability to

distinguish CF?  Why exactly is this?

-Is there a particular progression of movement (directionally) that happens throughout the treatment?  Will things always move in a certain direction (clockwise/counterclockwise, etc) when certain points throughout the treatment have been achieved?

-How involved does the patient need to be in/during the treatment?

-Do you communicate with the person that their life is going to be altered?

What is your responsibility to this?

We began to talk ethics when we started

the conversation, and I'd like to hear more about that.

Ethics and safety and vast unknown questions.

-Can a possession keep someone alive?  When do you say "no" to doing this treatment?

-Why is the first needle called the Master Point?

-What if the treatment goes wrong?  What are the risks?

-In school the use of this protocol is talked about as a response to a negative, harmful phenomenon.  Studying with you I'm understanding that there is much, much more gray area. How do you approach an ID treatment with respect to the patient and all of the 10,000 beings?

-Have you seen other traditional medicines dealing with this level of obstruction in a way similar to Chinese Medicine? Is there anything comparable? What do you think the differences/similarities are, if you have any experience with other forms of medicine.

-How does this get set up in a person?

Do you do any practice

(qigong, meditation etc) on your own to protect yourself energetically?

-Have you had any treatments that don't go even after repeated tries

-Is there a common denominator that people feel after their true qi has been restored?

-Does this level of obstruction ever happen slowly

or is it usually immediate?

-How does trauma and/or drugs/alcohol and/or western ideas of "mental illness" play in?
