Our theme for the year 2012 here at the Cathedral of the Holy Spirit is "Let Spirit Carry You to Truth." Here it is, deconstructed a bit, to help you remember its meaning throughout the year.
LET - Allow it; grant it permission; In this season, learn to transition from a position of resistance to one of surrender. Surrender to the "yes" of God and let it be.
SPIRIT - Remember the words written in John chapter 4... They that worship Him must worship in spirit and in truth. Religion can carry you to "a" truth, but not to "the" truth. Religion has many truths, but Spirit is THE truth. Jesus may be our connection to Truth, but there is a greater truth than just our truth. Truth is too big to be contained in any one religion.
CARRY - Once you allow Spirit in, you don't have to work so hard anymore. It will carry you. The heaviest burden we carry in life is our religion - not our race or gender or any situation we were born into. The fear taught in most religions keeps us in bondage. Let Spirit carry you by surrendering to it.
YOU - The Word is in you, even in your mouth...it must be personal. Don't rely on your pastor or others to tell you your truth. The answer is in you.
(to) TRUTH - What is truth? What you perceive? Only what lies between the pages of the Bible? Truth is new every day. God has not "spoken," He is "speaking." Truth moved from the law to the prophets to Jesus to the Spirit. Truth is infinite.

Affirmation for 2012
2012 will be a year of order and design in my life.
In 2012, the chaos in my life will surrender to order.
In 2012, the disorganization in my life is about to be overwhelmed by structure & discipline.
This year I will allow myself to be mentored into promotion & increase.
The failures of 2011 only exist in my mind to remind me of the wisdom I have gained.

I Don't Know dissolves religious division, bridges cultural chasms and dodges philosophical divorce originating from the I Know. I Don't Know is the Repairer of the Breach.
