The New York Roentgen Society is the oldest local radiological society in the United States. When the New York Roentgen Society (NYRS) was founded in 1912, there were only two other societies representing our specialty, the American Roentgen Ray Society and the American Radium Society. Since that time, many local and state societies have followed in our footsteps to represent radiologists and radiation oncologists in their respective localities. In these uncertain times, the Society also brings NY City issues to the State and Nation by providing Delegates to the Board of Directors of the NY State Radiological Society as well as Councilors to the American College of Radiology.
