White House Favors House's 75 Percent Utilization Rate! |
We have learned from reliable sources that White House officials and key members of the House of Representative are pushing for the House's equipment utilization rate language that called for an immediate 75 percent utilization rate for advanced diagnostic imaging in the final healthcare reform bill. As you may be aware, there was a compromise of 65 percent reached between the Senate and the imaging community after independent surveys of actual imaging providers found equipment utilization rates far below those in either the House or Senate bills. The original Senate's provision is less harmful because it phases-in the utilization rate over time coupled with a cap on total savings.
NYRS, along with many others in the imaging community, are encouraging members to contact your Representatives to stop this from going any further. If you do not know who your representative is you can find it here http://clerk.house.gov/member_info/index.html
