Maison Tardieu-Laurent 2012 Côtes du Rhône Guy-Louis - $33.90
"A blend of 60% Grenache and 40% Syrah (with the Syrah aged a small part in new oak), the 2012 Cotes du Rhone Cuvee Guy Louis has a modern slant in its graphite, violets, blackberry, mineral and chocolate-styled bouquet. Actually smelling like a northern Rhone Syrah, this medium-bodied, nicely concentrated and fresh southern Rhone will drink nicely for 8-10 years."

Maison Tardieu-Laurent 2012 Rasteau Vieilles Vignes - $34.90
"Comprised mostly of Grenache, with 20% of Syrah, the 2012 Rasteau Vieilles Vignes is a big, rich, full-bodied effort that gives up classic Rasteau aromas and flavors of dark berry fruit, mineral, leather, chocolate and dusty soil. There's a fair kick of tannin here, so don't be afraid to give it a year or two in the cellar. It should drink well for upward of a decade or more."

Maison Tardieu-Laurent 2011 Vacqueyras Vieilles Vignes - $41.90
"More floral and perfumed, the Grenache dominated 2012 Vacqueyras Vieilles Vignes (fermented with lots of whole cluster and aged all in 1-2 year old barrels) offers plenty of blackberry, blueberry, violets, mint, spice and toast to go with a medium to full-bodied, rich and chewy profile on the palate. Pure, balance and layered, it should be outstanding and drink nicely for 8-10 years, if not longer."

Maison Tardieu-Laurent 2012 Gigondas Vieilles Vignes - $44.90
"Also seeing a big portion of stems, the 2012 Gigondas Vieilles Vignes is 95% Grenache (the balance is Syrah and Mourvedre) that comes from 100-year-old vines and higher elevation vineyards. Ground pepper, leather, mineral, charcoal and smoky dark fruit all flow from this medium to full-bodied, supple and nicely textured effort. Surprisingly polished and elegant, with beautiful purity of fruit and great acidity, it's a knockout effort to drink over the coming decade."

Maison Tardieu-Laurent 2012 Cornas Coteaux - $59.90
"More burly and muscular, the 2012 Cornas Coteaux (couteaux means slope) dishes out big blackberry and raspberry fruit, graphite, smoked meat and tinges of mint to go with full-bodied richness and depth on the palate. The concentration and underlying structure here give this a slightly more backward feel, yet it opens nicely in the glass and has the fruit and texture to be enjoyable even now. It will have 10-15 years of longevity."

Maison Tardieu-Laurent 2012 Chateauneuf-du-Pape "Vieilles Vignes" - $74.90
"Superb and with loads of potential, the 2012 Chateauneuf du Pape Vieilles Vignes (90% Grenache and 10% Syrah, with the Grenache aged in older barrel and the Syrah in new barrels) is more deep and layered than the Cuvee Speciale. Offering up impressive notes of mineral, new leather and smoky black fruits, this full-bodied, layered and textured 2012 has superb mid-palate depth, fine tannin and an all-around concentrated, backwards feel. It will require 3-4 years of bottle age and keep for 15 years or more. Drink 2017-2027."
