Scott Paul 2012 La Paulée Pinot Noir - $59.90
"Bright red. Exotic, spice-laced red berry and floral pastille aromas pick up a smoky quality with air, showing a pure, nervy character and a hint of musky earth. Sappy, incisive and focused on the palate, offering intense raspberry and cola flavors and a palate-numbing peppery kick. Gains in sweetness with air, picking up a bitter cherry note that carries through the long, gently tannic finish."

About Scott Paul Wines
Scott Paul Wines was founded in 1999 by Scott and Martha Paul as a way to put their creative talents to use and to distance themselves from their former careers. Scott was a founding executive of an independent promotion company in the music industry after a long and successful career as a top 40 on-air talent, Shadow Stevens, while Martha was doing public relations management for a group of celebrity chefs. Eventually the lure of the Willamette Valley was too strong and they decided to sell their house in LA and move up to Carlton. Scott found work as the Managing Director of Domaine Drouhin Oregon by day and by night he and Martha set about learning the ins and outs of winemaking. Over the past decade the wines of Scott Paul have improved dramatically and today they are among the most sought after wines being produced in Oregon. Scott and Martha have dedicated themselves to the product of hand-crafted, small lots of Pinot Noir that focus on elegance and finesse. They want their wines to seduce you, rather than hit you over the head. Total annual production is 2,000 cases on average with two mainstay wines, Audrey and La Paulée, produced each vintage and we are very fortunate to have secured an allocation from this producer.
Evesham Wood 2013 Willamette Valley Pinot Noir - $33.90
"The Willamette Valley blend is always our first look at bottled Pinot from the vintage. 2013 was an interesting growing season, starting off early and warm all the way through the summer then hitting a siginificant cool down followed by epic rain. We picked about two-thirds of our fruit before the rain then paused for a week and resumed harvesting after things dried out. Very reminiscent of the 2010, lively and fresh with bright red cherry, cranberry, cinnamon and slight chewiness on the finish."

Evesham Wood 2012 Les Puits Sec Pinot Noir - $53.90
"2012 produced a darker bottling, both in color and flavors. Dark cherry with hints of blackberry, typical Le Puits Sec plum flavors with a silky, creamy texture. Very forward and showing great now, I expect it to improve handsomely for the next 7-10 years. 500 cases produced. Certified organically grown." - Winemaker's Notes
Haden Fig 2012 Cancilla Vineyard Pinot Noir - $44.90
"Situated at the northern end of the Willamette Valley in the foothills of the Coast Range, the Cancilla vineyard is a cooler site which permits for the full development of flavours while keeping the alcohol moderate and the acidity vibrant. This wine boasts strawberries and rosemary on the nose that leas into flavours of ripe black raspberry and cherry fruit with just a hint of pie spice. With a bit of air and time hints of cinnamon merge with red fruits and the balanced acidity to give the wine excellent mouthfeel. Fun to drink now, this wine will benefit from several years in the cellar."

About Evesham Wood and Haden Fig
Evesham Wood was founded by Russ and Mary Raney in 1986 after a comprehensive search throughout the Willamette Valley for an ideal site for their estate vineyard. They eventually found one and christened the vineyard "Les Puits Sec", which is French for "the dry well", one of which there happens to be in the vineyard. The shallow volcanic basalt soils means that this vineyard is always low yielding and produces grapes of great intensity and complexity; always a signature of the terroir Les Puits Sec gives. After planting the estate vineyard, Russ and Mary also started purchasing fruit from selected sites throughout the area such as Temperance Hill and Illahe. The purchased fruit accounts for roughly half the annual 5,500 case production.
Today, Evesham Wood is owned by Erin and Jordan Nuccio who also own Haden Fig which they debuted in 2008 and which, since its creation, has been made at Evesham Wood. The driving idea behind the wines produced at Haden Fig is to craft beautiful wines that are made exclusively from organically and biodynamically farmed vineyards that adhere to natural winemaking practices. The end result; Pinot Noirs that are full bodied and complex that hold true to their vineyard origins.
