Exclusions from regulation as a Solid Waste or Hazardous Waste
Used oil filters are a solid waste upon disposal and may be a hazardous waste, if not for 40 CFR 261.4(b)(13). This exclusion from regulation as a hazardous waste is available if the filter is properly drained of oil. Be sure to view this short presentation to ensure you are disposing of your used oil filters properly.
