October 2012 - Volume 2

Greetings!

My busy schedule in the 4th quarter of 2012 has continued.  It hasn't prevented me, though, from getting out this second volume of my October Newsletter.  If you like it, please share it with others you know.  As always, don't hesitate to contact me with questions.

Knowledge-Based or Analysis-Based in Making Your Hazardous Waste Determination?

An article in the last volume explained the requirement for all generators of any solid waste to conduct a hazardous waste determination.  This article explains how you can make that determination.   More...

State Specific Regulations

This Volume:  Pennsylvania! Pennsylvania

A new feature for my newsletter.  Each volume will now contain an article explaining one facet of the hazardous waste regulations for a state with an authorized RCRA program.

This article summarizes the PA DEP's regulations pertaining to Universal Waste in the state.  Pennsylvania has two state-specific UW's in addition to the four allowed by the US EPA..  More...

The Transportation of Alcohol

No, I'm not talking about Moonshiners.  Alcoholic beverages are just one example of the hazardous materials that surround us every day.  You may not know that an exception to the regulations exists for these materials when in transportation.  More...
Recent Testimonials

"I usually get my training from the guys with the big yellow trucks, but this was the best RCRA training I've ever attended.  Dan made the training fun and kept my interest the entire class!"

- Robert Salerno, Owens Corning Sales - Memphis (10.18.12)

What is a "Permanent" Shipping Paper?

Continuing my series of articles on Shipping Papers is this on one a little-known, but useful form a shipping paper may take.  Its allowance in the HMR makes possible things like the bulk delivery of fuels to multiple customers.  More...
