Calling All High-Schoolers! Greater Cincinnati will get its first urban mountain bike trails October 11 when 150 high school volunteers pick up hoes, axes and mattocks to build several miles of trail at Devou Park in Covington.
Event organizer Give Back High, a subsidiary of Give Back Cincinnati, is recruiting 150 high school students to join the effort. Youth in grades 9 through 12 from any Northern Kentucky or Greater Cincinnati school can register at www.ugive.org. Parents will be required to fill out a waiver for participants under 18.
Sponsors include the Duke Energy Foundation and Alpine Valley Water. Lunch will be provided by Riverfront Pizza in Covington. For additional information on this event, please contact Teresa Murphy or visit www.ugive.org.

This will be the last week for curbside storm debris pick-up. Friday, October 3, will be the last day.
The drop-off site at Randolph Park on Prospect Street between 9th & 10th Streets will remain open. Covington residents may continue to drop off natural and other debris at this location.
If you have debris currently set out that we need to be made aware of, please call 431-5018 before the end of the day Thursday.

The Center for Great Neighborhoods of Covington is partnering with PNC Bank and The Kenton County Cooperative Extension (KCCE) to offer four Financial Education Workshops. The workshops are a hands-on way to: learn banking ins and outs, improve your money management skills, minimize your winter heating bill, and maximize each hard earned dollar. Everyone can use some more financial know-how in these tough times! All classes are free and all are welcome to come to just one or all four. Classes are as follows:

The dynamic Carnegie in Concert series continues on Thursday, October 9th at 7:30 pm with a performance by the incomparable Northern Kentucky Brotherhood Singers, the area's premier male a cappella ensemble.
The 2008-09 season of the Cinema Carnegie film series at The Carnegie Visual and Performing Arts Center opens on Friday, October 3rd at 8:00pm with the 1962 silver screen classic To Kill a Mockingbird. A full weekend of films continues with two Cincinnati premieres: Mike Judge and Don Herzfeld's irreverent Animation Show 4 on Saturday, October 4th and 8:00pm, and the poingant documentary Operation Filmmaker on Sunday, October 5 at 3:00pm.

Emergency Response: Changing the Future, Saving Lives Exhibit The Behringer-CrawfordMuseum is proud to announce a new exhibit that will honor the region's firefighters and EMS personnel. The exhibit will be open through October 26, 2008. The exhibit will include information about major fires in the area, heroic stories and personal accounts, artifacts, as well as information about how the evolution of building materials and construction have affected the process by which fires are extinguished. Emergency Response: Changing the Future, Saving Lives exhibit will include information provided by firefighters and EMS personnel from around the Northern Kentucky region. It is important to the Behringer-Crawford museum to honor the community of fire departments around the region. The exhibit will be educational as well as a testament to the hard work and determination of firefighters and EMS personnel. There will be a focus on major fires in Northern Kentucky and how they shaped the way that firefighters and EMS personnel respond to emergencies, changed fire code standards, and prevent fires.
