Bruce Daniels' Prehistoric Pet
Buzzy Clina shared a story about Bruce Daniels at a recent Empire Stare Farrier's Association meeting.
Many moons ago, Buzzy attended a competition hosted by the Garden State Horseshoer's
Association at the Sussex County Fairgrounds in New Jersey.
The line of traffic heading into the fairgrounds stopped for several minutes, held up by a white van stopped in the drive, then proceeded on into the competition.
As was the custom, many of the attending farriers brought their dogs with them and tied them to the rail around the ring near their trucks.
The white van, driven by Bruce Daniels, parked in the ring; Bruce and a helper hopped out, opened the rear doors, and pulled out a large snapping turtle tied to a rope. Bruce proceeded to tie the snapper to the rail alongside everyone's dogs.
At the end of the day, Bruce released his pet snapper back into the wild.
