David McVay
(May 22, 1945 - May 12, 2014)
David McVay of Sheridan, Arkansas was born May 22, 1945 near Sherrill, Arkansas the son of the late George and Viverine Moore McVay. He was a self employed farrier having been a member of the American Farrier Association and in years past had been a member of Mid State Horse Show Association and the Southeast Horse Show Association. He was of the Baptist faith, enjoyed horses, playing music and loved being with his children and grandchildren. He was a good hearted man who will be missed by all who knew him. David died Monday, May 12, 2014 in Grapevine at the age of 68. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Charles McVay and his sisters, Katie Lee Shnaekel and Anna Lisenbey. Survivors: significant other, Marguerite Berus; son, John David McVay and wife Lee; daughter, Melissa Boyd and husband Mario all of Pine Bluff; sister, Phyllis McVay of Benton and grandchildren, Ashley Boothe and Charles McVay and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. A time of visitation will be Friday, May 16, 2014 from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home chapel. Graveside services will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, May 17, 2014 at Ringer Cemetery in Centerville, Arkansas. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice Angels, 3801 Camden Road, Suite 12, Pine Bluff, Arkansas 71603.
