Low Inventory Drives Home Prices Upward
Dwindling inventory which is the lowest it's been since 2005 in the Naples real estate market has driven up home prices according to the Naples Area Board of Realtors (NABOR). Overall inventory dropped by 15% to 6,162 last month. The median price on closed sales increased an overall 10%, from $176,000 to $194,000, for the 12-month period ending in August. Single-family homes under $300,000 saw an increase in median price on closed sales from $140,000 to $166,000. The median price on closed sales for homes in the $500,000 to $1 million category rose to $669,000 last month from $598,000 in August 2011. Overall pending sales increased increased 17% over August 2011. For homes in the $500,000 to $1 million category pending sales rose 16%. The average number of days on the market decreased by 6%, from 178 days on the market in August 2011 to 167 days on the market last month. The Lee County real estate market also is seeing a drop in inventory of homes. Current inventory of single-family homes declined 39.6% from 4,232 in August 2011 to 2,779. Golf Tip of the Month
 Put to a tee.
Before a round and while you practice putting, get away to an open area on the practice green. Place a tee in the ground and putt so that you hit the tee instead of putting to a hole. Start with one-foot putts and then gradually move back to two feet and then three feet. Keep stroking your putts and hitting the tee until it's time to go to the first tee. Once on the course, the whole will look very large to you, and your confidence will soar. You will find that you will have one of your best putting days because of the change in perspective that you got on the practice green.
