Ignis Systems Highlights
Yikes, it's August already. Since our last newsletter in April, we've been busy adding features, conducting training sessions, adding more labs to the EMR-Link hub, installing EMR-Link for our 7,000th physician, and sponsoring two local community fund-raising efforts.
Features you've asked for that we've released since March include:
- Lab reports that highlight and summarize abnormal results at the top of the report
- Patient-friendly lab reports that automatically insert your practice's custom comments, and automatically suppress lab result content that isn't useful or informative for patients
- New reports that profile your practice's ordering patterns (see Mike's article below)
Don't forget that every feature we release is documented in the monthly release notes at your Ignis support site. While at the support site, don't forget to review our library of workflow scenarios, reporting guidelines, maintenance tips, and other helpful documents.
A quick invitation to register for the upcoming Centricity HealthCare User Group being held in Orlando on October 4-6 in Orlando. We'd love to see you there.
Finally, heartfelt thanks to those many of you who donated so generously to the Ignis Team's sponsorships at this year's Relay For Life (Wilsonville Oregon) and Oregon's Ride To Defeat ALS. We contributed to raising over $65,000 and $100,000 respectively. And our entire team volunteered at the Oregon Food Bank to round out our annual company meeting in Portland Oregon, August 9-11.

Should You Count on an HIE For Lab/Rad Connectivity?
As many public and private HIEs (health information exchanges) search for sustainable business models, lab/radiology connectivity often comes up as a core service. After all, lab/radiology data represents some of the highest volume digital and non-digital data between a hospital and providers in the community, so it seems that it should be a natural fit. But current HIE systems have significant limitations in serving in this role. Read more
