Q & A with Ryan Lindbeck from Linbeck Photography

Earlier this year, Lindbeck Photography decided to move to the Haymarket at 809 P Street.  DLA had a chance to catch up with co-owner Ryan Lindbeck to see how the studio, now operated by him and his wife Jessica, has come from being in a tiny 10x10 foot room in their basement.

DLA: Why did Lindbeck Photography chose to locate downtown?

Ryan: We love the atmosphere of the Haymarket, itLindbeck Photography Logo has so much potential and our clients also love the "feel" it brings to their portraits.  There are tons of possibilities for creativity in this area of downtown Lincoln.

DLA: What type of services does Lindbeck Photography offer for downtown and the community?

Ryan: Lindbeck Photography is a portrait studio-we offer senior, family, baby, engagement, maternity, and any other kind of portraits you need.  We also offer business and commercial portraits; we've done shoots for national magazines and local businesses-from professional headshots to building shots for websites and pamphlets.  We've also donated our photography services to local charities held by our hospitals, schools and churches here in Lincoln.  Read on....

Updowntowners Celebrating 25 Years

Updowntowners 25

Updowntowners recently announced that the organization is celebrating 25 years of service to the city of Lincoln.

Several special activities are planned throughout the year beginning with "25 Years of Life and Celebration" on Sunday, May 17. The event for all members and volunteers past and present will feature The Elders, one of the favorite bands from Updowntowners signature events, July Jamm and Celebrate Lincoln.

The event will be held at Red9 on 322 South 9th Street from 7-10 p.m. The TwentyFive planning committee is searching for past members, volunteers and sponsors to invite them to the event and thank them for their involvement and years of energy given to Updowntowners and the community. To learn more visit www.updowntowners.org.

Several events are planned throughout the year with activities culminating at a special 25th Annual Star City Holiday Parade on December 5.

The Downtown Lincoln Association organized Updowntowners in 1984 as a resource for human "energy" to produce downtown events. In 2000 Updowntowners incorporated under the parent organization as the preeminent event production organization for Lincoln. Today the membership of nearly 300 people and 1,000 volunteers is committed to work on events and projects that will focus on bringing the community together.
