Task 1.1    Provide technical assistance to Member Policy Committees and staff regarding cross cutting issues, includes monitoring the national transportation discussion from various organizations and transportation related articles.

Total time spent for the month of August is 12.25 hours.

AUGUST 2012
Task 1.2    Provide a mechanism for policy discussion and analysis regarding metropolitan transportation issues.  Includes duties such as organization of the ILMPO meetings, producing minutes and agenda items along with discussions with the Chairman of the Policy and/or Technical Committee.

Total time spent for the month of August is 4.50 hours.

Consultant spent time
meeting with the ILMPO Chairman both in person and via telephone to discuss progress with the ILMPO UWP and an October ILMPO board meeting.  Consultant coordinated a meeting with ILMPO Chairman and Greater Egypt Regional Planning Commission Executive Director.  Lastly, consultant communicated with IDOT, FHWA and NARC regarding an October ILMPO board meeting. 

Task 1.3    Support MPOs in implementing and complying with state and federal laws and regulations regarding planning responsibilities of metropolitan planning organizations.

Total time spent for the month of August is 9.50 hours.

Time was spent conducting a final review of the
August Reports & Resources Brief which was distributed the morning of August 1, 2012.  The Reports Brief was distributed to MPOs, IDOT planning staff and Springfield FHWA personnel. 

Consultant began researching transportation related reports for the September Reports & Research Brief on August 20. 
Consultant spent time researching various subscriptions, as well as FHWA, FTA, TRB and USDOT emails and website for transportation related reports.  Time was also spent reviewing the transportation related reports for its relevance to MPOs in Illinois.  

Task 1.4    Provide a forum of the sharing of information and best practices across regional lines.  Includes website development and coordination of various entities to ILMPO meetings.

Total time spent for the month of August is 10.25 hours.

Transportation News Briefs were posted to the ILMPO Main Web Page after each Constant Contact email blast.  The list of emails developed and distributed can be found in Task 1.1 

  

Consultant updated the Archive button in Constant Contact and GoDaddy website builder. Time was also spent incorporating July and August Reports & Research Briefs to the ILMPO Reports & Research webpage.

Lastly, consultant updated the MPO News & Notices webpage on August 27 with various webinar notices, archived news articles and a link to UWP monthly report.  

Task 2.0   Develop linkages and networks with other related statewide and regional organizations, including developing strategic relationships with key state agency personnel and associations.

0 hours was spent in the month of July on this task.


Task 2.1   Task2Point1Provide training for MPO staff and member agencies.  Include duties related to the Technical Committee Meetings.

4.25 hours were spent on task 2.1 in the month of August. 


Constant Contact developed and distributed a Webinar Notice on August 23.  A listing of webinars in the email blast are listed below.

Task 2.2   Identify and pursue grant opportunities to support MPO activities.

No hours was spent on Task 2.2 for the month of July.  

 

 

Task 2.3   Analyze state and federal legislative and regulatory proposals to determine their impacts on planning jurisdictions of Illinois MPOs.  Duties includes researching state statutes and providing legislative update reports.

Total time spent for the month of August is 15.25 hours.  

 

Consultant communicated with IDOT regarding the calendar of ILMPO MYP public meetings, added the dates to the ILMPO calendar and sent a notice to ILMPO members.  Consultant reviewed the FHWA webinar on the TIFIA program and the MAP-21 freight provisions.  Communicated Springfield FHWA office regarding the additional MAP-21 webinars.  Consultant attended the public meeting at Union Station for the IDOT high speed rail plan.


 
 Task 3.0   Administrative duties to include fiscal agent duties, to develop the UWP and provide monthly UWP updates, and to develop detailed invoices. 

Total time spent for the month of August 8.50 hours.

 

Consultant spent time reviewing detailed invoices from July and analyzing hours spent on each particular UWP task.  Time was also spent updating the monthly drawn down of hours provided in the UWP report.  The July UWP Report was distributed to MPO members and IDOT via Constant Contact on August 7. Time was spent creating a detailed invoice for July 16-31 and August 1 - 15.
