Dunn Vineyards
2011 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
$108.61 pre-tax ($124.90) per bottle
$103.43 pre-tax ($118.95) per 6 bottles
$98.73 pre-tax ($113.55) per 12 bottles
"The 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley is one of the most open, young Dunn Cabernets I have ever tasted. Sweet red berries, cinnamon, wild flowers, cedar and tobacco are all laced together in a supple, racy Cabernet that is already drinking well. The 2011 is quite delicate today, almost uncharacteristically so. Once again, the Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon was made entirely from Howell Mountain fruit." - Vinous, Dec 2014 92 points
2011 Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon
$139.04 pre-tax ($159.90) per bottle
$132.42 pre-tax ($152.28) per 6 bottles
$126.40 pre-tax ($145.36) per 12 bottles
"Dark red cherries, plums, menthol, tobacco, new leather and spices are some of the notes that inform the 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain. Hints of lavender and licorice develop in the glass as the wine gradually opens up. In 2011, the Howell Mountain Cabernet offers plenty of depth and resonance, but the tannins are quite tamed by Dunn standards, making it a delicious wine to drink earlier than other recent vintages."

About
Randy and Lori Dunn established their winery in the town of Angwin on Howell Mountain in 1979 and they released their first vintage in 1981, a mere 660 cases of wine. Since then, this famed producer has grown in size but they still produce a relatively small amount of wine, only 4000 to 5000 cases a year. Dunn Vineyards produces two labels, Howell Mountain (2500 cases) and Napa Valley (1500 cases) and both wines can usually be laid down for 15+ years.

Quilceda Creek
2012 Columbia Valley Red Wine
$99.91 pre-tax ($114.90) per bottle
$95.15 pre-tax ($109.42) per 6 bottles
$90.82 pre-tax ($104.45) per 12 bottles
"The 2012 CVR Columbia Valley Red Wine is a declassified blend of mostly Cabernet Sauvignon, with splashes of Merlot and Malbec. It offers up plenty of classic Quilceda character with notions of blackberry liqueur, toasted spice, graphite and licorice as well as full-bodied richness and depth on the palate. Already supple and approachable, yet with notable tannin structure, it will deliver the goods on release, and over the following decade or more."

2012 Cabernet Sauvignon
$282.52 pre-tax ($324.90) per bottle
$269.06 pre-tax ($309.42) per 6 bottles
$256.83 pre-tax ($295.36) per 12 bottles
"More approachable, but no less impressive, the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon (100% Cabernet Sauvignon) looks gorgeous, and is probably the most complete wine in the lineup. Layered and rich, yet ultra-pure and also elegant, it gives up classic crème de cassis, lead pencil shavings, licorice and liquid flower like qualities to go with full-bodied richness and depth on the palate. Relatively civilized, yet with building tannin and richness, it should benefit from short term cellaring and have two decades of longevity."

Older Vintages Currently in Stock
2010 Columbia Valley Red Wine (36 bottles available)
$78.17 pre-tax ($89.90) per bottle
$74.44 pre-tax ($85.61) per 6 bottles
$71.06 pre-tax ($81.72) per 12 bottles
"A superb entry level effort that has not only layers of fruit and texture, but solid back-end structure, the 2010 Red Wine is a declassified blend of mostly Cabernet Sauvignon, yet has 15% Merlot and a splash of Malbec, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc in there as well. Up-front, perfumed and intense, it offers up spice-laced red and black fruits, toast, cedar, vanilla and hints of chocolate to go with a full-bodied, mouth-filling and voluptuously textured palate. Lacking the polish and elegance that can be found in this estate's upper tier efforts, it nevertheless has superb fruit, ripe tannin and serious length. Enjoy it while you wait for this estate's other wines to mature. Drink now-2020."

2011 Columbia Valley Red Wine (19 bottles available)
$78.17 pre-tax ($89.90)
$74.44 pre-tax ($85.61) per 6 bottles
$71.06 pre-tax ($81.72) per 12 bottles
"The 2011 Columbia Valley Red Wine offers the classic creme de cassis, graphite, toasted spice and hints of licorice that seems to be present in all of the estate's Cabernets. Medium to full-bodied, supple and already approachable, it nevertheless has the back-end stuffing to evolve gracefully for upwards of a decade."
