Please Pray With Us
Please pray first of all for our primary strategic partners---- some of whom are seeking to serve Christ in the midst of war and great suffering (the Congo), or extensive poverty (Rwanda, Myanmar, Cambodia): * Myanmar Institute of Theology * Association of Theological Education in Myanmar * ULPGL----The Christian University in Eastern Congo * Shyira Diocese, Rwanda * Chemin Neuf Community, France * Ukraine Evangelical Theological Seminary As we prepare to move into 2013, please pray for guidance in the following strategic areas so that we may better know God's will and be led by the Holy Spirit: * Extent of our commitment to teaching/ministering in Myanmar (one or two semesters per year at MIT?), and with it future ministry elsewhere that would be affected by more time spent in Myanmar (our work in Africa and Europe would likely be most effected) * Development of the Spirit-Led Leader teaching through ATEM and to other leadership groups, seminaries, and churches (is it time to start working with individuals to extend SLL?) * Nature and scope of our outreach to the Yangon Poor (orphans, widows, illiterate, street kids), and its relationship to FHLGM's Christian leadership development work (how can we best link those being trained in Spirit-led leadership with social and spiritual ministries to the needy throughout Myanmar?) * Jill's work related to the Chartres Cathedral and to the labyrinth (academically and practically, in France and throughout the world), and its relationship to the broader work of Faith, Hope, and Love * Continued growth in our understanding of who God is and how Christ wants us to think and minister in an every changing world (e.g., how to speak of the Gospel in the Myanmar/Buddhist context, how to respond to the social issues tearing apart the church in the U.S., how to best understand and present the Gospel to an increasingly secular U.S. society, and how to hear and cooperate better with the Holy Spirit in every aspect of our lives and ministry) * For a growing number of volunteers and potential volunteers to know how they may be be involved and contribute to FHLGM * Whether to go through with the scheduled pastors training in Cambodia due to leadership issues that have recently arisen; successful completion of the translation of The Spirit-Led Leader into the Khmer language * Year-end fundraising * The right additional Board members * Ability to better navigate and handle the stresses, distractions, fatigue, etc. that arise from our global travels and responsibilities |
