Pray With Us
1. We are now searching for part time staff and/or volunteers to provide critically needed infrastructure support to free Tim and Jill to focus on teaching, coaching, writing, and preparing presentations. (See Help Wanted! in the right hand column for details.) We need to have people in place for these roles before Tim leaves for the fall semester on September 9.
2. Safety for our brothers and sisters and resolution of the political crisis in the Congo as the rebels continue to threaten Goma and people in the countryside of Eastern Congo. To find out more or to make a contribution to an emergency fund created by trustworthy leaders within Goma, DRC, please visit the website of HEAL Africa Emergency Fund.
3. Cambodian leaders will be finishing translating The Spirit-Led Leader into the Khmer language as a resource for Christian leaders and for FHLGM's future ministry there in 2013. Next up is beginning to prepare to teach pastors in Cambodia in 2013.
3. $21,500 is needed by September 5 for immediate ministry expenses related to financing travel, lodging, and other program related costs for the upcoming semester in Myanmar.
4. Course preparation for 3 semester long courses to be taught in Myanmar, beginning this fall.
5.We are still praying for complete healing for Jill and relief from constant pain emanating from bulging discs impinging on nerves in her neck.

Greetings!,
Summer is an important, but different kind of time for Faith, Hope, and Love Global Ministries. The season provides a good chance to step back from the front lines, regroup, and prepare for fall classes. We get to spend time with supporters, our church, and friends--people we hardly get to see throughout the rest of the year when we're on the field. We also connect more personally with our families, to care for them, and to be cared for by them. The highlight of the summer, by far, has been the wedding of our son, Tim, to Stella Wang. Jill and I had the privilege and joy to officiate at the ceremony.

Our New Website and Online Resources Summer is also a very good time to finally tend to important infrastructure and development needs. Now, after six months of work, we are very excited to announce that we have launched our new website this week. On it you'll find our new three minute informational video that includes footage and recorded testimonials from Africa, Eastern Europe, and Myanmar. You can also see video recorded teachings, filmed this past May when I taught several sessions of The Spirit-Leader at a leadership retreat for American Baptist Churches pastors of Nebraska. | Check out the new website at fhlglobal.org |
As part of the new website package, we are now able to supplement our in-person teaching ministry by providing audio recordings of all 20 sessions of The Spirit-Led Leader curriculum online. These sessions were recorded live in Yangon, Myanmar, when I taught faculty members from various Christian colleges and seminaries in collaboration with the Association for Theological Education in Myanmar (ATEM), in October 2011. In addition, over 65 essays that I've written on Christian living and leadership can now be found in one place organized by categories. You can read them on line, or copy and print them out to share with others. Thank you to all of you who are standing with us by praying, by donating, and by advocating for the work we are doing. We need you in order to fulfill the mission with which God has entrusted us. Serving Christ with you, Tim Geoffrion President and Teaching Minister "What you have heard from me through many witnesses entrust to faithful people who will be able to teach others as well." -2 Timothy 2:2, NRSV |

Ministry in Minnesota
Summer provides some good opportunities for teaching and ministry for the benefit of local leaders and ministry groups here in Minnesota. As God so leads, we hope to increasingly offer to Christian leaders and ministers in the U.S. what we has been so well received abroad.
This past month, for example, Tim was invited to return to TreeHouse, where he served for 10 years, first as Program Director and then as Executive Director. He spoke to 30 TreeHouse staff and summer interns on how to be a more Spirit-led leader in ministry to troubled youth and their families.
Tom Richards, TreeHouse Program Director, wrote us with his words of appreciation and praise for the experience the same day: Thanks again for spending time with the TreeHouse staff this morning. They we're blessed through you! Tim connected extremely well with our TreeHouse ministry staff. He taught on a topic that could have been intimidating and complex and presented it in a way that was simple to understand. Tim created a safe environment for learning and related to the group as a pastor, teacher and friend. His Spirit-Led Leader lesson was equally insightful and empowering.

A New Season Ahead
Will you help launch the fall semester?
For many of us, August is a thrilling month of last-minute adventures and one last 'hurrah' for summer. We begin to number the days of warmth and value what time we have left before the new routine of fall sets in. At Faith, Hope, and Love Global Ministries we, too, are hoping that August is a month that caps off a great summer of developing the ministry and laying a solid foundation for the upcoming months abroad.
We have wonderful ministry opportunities ahead beginning in September. Specifically, the semester-long courses offered in Myanmar will provide teaching and training for up to 125 theological students at the seminary. Another 30 faculty members will participate in four day Spirit-Led Leader workshop in Kalamyo, in the northern part of the country.
In order to fund the travel, lodging, food, and participants' costs for these events, and to purchase air tickets for ministry in Myanmar and Cambodia right after the new year, we need to raise $21,500 by September 1. By giving to Faith, Hope, and Love you are helping pastors and Christian leaders gain the training and skill-set to more effectively serve Christ and their communities.
Will you consider making a financial gift this month to support the upcoming work in Myanmar and Cambodia?
Click the "donate" button below to be linked to our donation page where you will more information on why to give as well as how to give either by mail or online. Your tax-deductible donations to Faith, Hope, and Love Global Ministries are both needed and greatly appreciated. Andrew J. Lonsbury Assistant to the President |
