Rejoice with us!
For a warm reception from students, faculty members, and even numerous hotel staff who greeted us with heartfelt smiles, calling out as we approached, "Welcome home!"
For safe antibiotics and reliable medical care for Tim, who was sick with a serious case of bronchitis the first full week.
Freedom to move about, teach, and serve.
Naw Ruth, a wonderful Karen (Myanmar) woman, who cheerfully helps us with many practical needs.
Thank you to Skip and Riley Powell, who hosted Faith, Hope, and Love's first Young Professional Night in Minnesota this past December!

Michael, a beggar boy we have come to know in Yangon
Pray with us.
Please pray for us as we teach and minister here at this critical time of new openness and opportunity.
We face many challenges here, and need your prayers for health, protection, spiritual vitality, wisdom, an ability to navigate cultural differences, and for insight to be able to guide those who suffer in ways that we have never experienced.
Our students are eager and sincere, but many challenges exist due to various language comprehension levels, different cultural expectations for student-professor relations, and academic variances between U.S. and Myanmar education.
The needs are great and many. Please pray that we will be as useful and fruitful as possible wherever the Holy Spirit wants to utilize us.
New monthly givers to help with cash flow needs all year long.

Greetings!
A new spirit of hope is in the air here. The U.S. Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, made a historic visit to top government officials before Christmas. Political prisoners are being released. The U.S. now plans to re-establish diplomatic relations after a 50 year hiatus. The Myanmar Institute of Theology (MIT), where we teach, has finally been granted a building permit after a five year delay. Contractors are busy constructing a new five story building for classrooms; administrative offices; and the Faith, Hope, and Love Chapel, named in appreciation for our support of the seminary. MIT's long-awaited, much needed new building
In January and February, I am finishing the two courses that I began this past fall: New Testament Theology for 75 seminary seniors, and Spiritual Vitality for Life and Leadership for 25 seminarians. Our presence on campus also helps the seminary to prepare for the launching of a Ph.D. program in 2014. Jill is lecturing on various individual subjects, blogging (see below), ministering to individual women, and photographing. In addition, we are serving faculty members, individual students, and administrators from various Christian seminaries and organizations through hospitality, coaching, and mentoring.
Thank you for caring about the people of Myanmar and for your support of our vital ministries of teaching, inspiring, and encouraging. Serving Christ with you,
Tim Geoffrion
President and Teaching Minister
