What could be better than grabbing a bite to eat while listening to the soothing sounds of some of the best jazz in the country? As a jazz mecca, New York has had a deep history with the genre and has been host to many pioneering joints since the 1920s.
 
There is certainly no shortage of great jazz clubs in the city today. I've listed my top spots in this week's Special Feature.

A welcome addition to the Upper East Side.  Exquisite French brassiere in a lovely townhouse setting offering both traditional and modern French dishes.  My friends and I tried the Coc au Vin and Coquilles St Jacques.... tre magnifique!  Their budget-friendly seasonal menu will change every 6-8 weeks. Sit at LeBar, an expansive and chic area, perfect for the after work crowd and wine aficionados.

Italian Cuisine    
Now that's Italian!  Felice 83 and neighboring Bar Felice are true Italian spots serving authentic Tuscan flavors of my homeland. Felice 83, along with their other sister restaurant on the Upper East Side reflect the soul of Italy. Housed in a rustic setting, their European wine bar features Italian banquettes and high tables. In true Italian fashion, a flat screen TV shows both European and American sports. Try their Crostone Burrata, Tagliatelle alla Bolognese, and the Branzino... just a few of their daily offerings.

Any performance at Blue Note in Greenwich Village is a treat and I go at least 4 times a year. The performances are always fresh and entertaining. Check out their Sunday jazz brunch.
