Anine Bing West Village - 330 Bleecker Street Opened by a Danish designer (former model) earlier this year as only the second domestic shop (the first was in LA), the clothes are reasonably priced and focused on simple design. Instead of releasing a new line seasonally, she comes out with 5-10 new styles each week to keep us all on our toes and coming back for more!
Charming Charlie Midtown East - 445 Fifth Avenue Known for its accessories in every color under the sun, the two-story space has clothing as well. In the mood for green, go to one end of the store... if it is a red day, head for the other end. No need to search endlessly for something to match that multi-colored new dress. Charming Charlie has it all and it's easy to find (and everything is inexpensive with most clothing ranging from $29-$35.)

Printed Matter Chelsea - 231 11th Avenue Recently having moved into this newer, larger space, the spot has been called the "CBGB of independent book sellers." They are the world's largest non-profit organization dedicated to publications made by artists - one of only a few organizations that creates and distributes artists' books, incorporating self-publishing, small press publishing, and artist networks and collectives. I'm excited to stop in to see the new space.
