IAPs - A Legacy of Lasting Change
It is difficult to pinpoint one aspect of the ELAM Fellowship year that is the most meaningful, but the Institutional Action Projects (IAPs) completed by Fellows have the farthest and longest reaching impact. From lessons learned by Fellows to major organizational change implemented at their institutions, IAPs can have effects lasting years beyond graduation from ELAM and in arenas all over the world.

Ambika Mathur, Ph.D. (ELAM '14) is having her first, as she describes, "suspense thriller fiction novel," Transplant, published later this month.

Leslie R. Walker-Harding, MD (ELAM '14), has been named chair of the Department of Pediatrics as well as pediatrician-in-chief of Penn State Hershey Medical Center. Reminder: AAMC GWIMS Call for Steering Committee Nominations is Open!
The GWIMS Steering Committee's primary functions are to plan and participate in the GWIMS Annual Meeting program, to address the needs of GWIMS members in terms of projects and products related to its mission, and to recommend AAMC policy and program directions relative to women in medicine.
This year, GWIMS has up to 4 Members-at-Large positions open on the GWIMS Steering Committee for three year terms. All committee terms officially begin in November at the GWIMS Connect session at Learn Serve Lead: The 2016 AAMC Annual Meeting. Find out how to apply here.

The Center for Women's Health Research at the University of Colorado is sponsoring a National Conference on Sex Differences Across the Lifespan: Focus on metabolism and cardiovascular disease.
